WP All American I?

Is there any way to save money on this? I am able to get nearly all of the non-consumable books from my library, but with 4 doing the program, it looks like it will run me about $700+. What could I cut out, or is there a way to combine the kids together on a project? I came up with that number based on what WP recommends as far as getting extra of xyz if you have more than one child doing it. Could I adjust those, possibly?

Also, we use a different Bible curriculum...there is a character training book or something (can't remember the name) - is this solely for Bible study, or is it part of the actual history component? If it's just for Bible I may leave it off and save $76.:tongue_smilie:

You could probably print out your own copies from the Homeschool in the Woods materials instead of buying all of the WP pre-copied stuff. (the curriculum comes with a printable CD). If your family is like mine you won't want 4 copies of everything in that set anyway (not that I've seen the set, but by reputation that is a TON of material). Also the Early American Crafts and Trades set I would not buy four copies. You could also do one family timeline, or just use a free generic one from the internet and buy only the printable timeline figures CD. I've not done All American but we are doing American 1 with the Trades and Crafts kit. Four kids for $700 seems pretty cheap for WP, LOL. (although $700 is really never cheap...)

I was wondering about that! Is that the Time Traveler something or other?

Yes, I was planning to get the CD that they offer, and having a family timeline is a great idea. I wasn't super impressed with the timeline they have listed, so I was planning to find something else. A family one is a great idea.

Yeah...I keep thinking that if I had to buy the whole kit...YIKES!!!!! I'm so thankful that I can get almost every book at the library.:D

Right. Amy Pak of Homeschool In the Woods wrote the Time Traveler Series, which is the backbone or spine of the program. By buying only one copy of her material and not paying for the consumable student pages, you could pick and choose which of her projects to complete.

This literally shaved off over $200 from my cost!:hurray::hurray::hurray:

Anyone know an answer to my Bible question?

What are the State Study worksheets?

Also I noticed that the Make Your Own history book isn't part of All American I...if I use the Time Traveler stuff, would I still need some sort of notebook for each child? Or does that take the place of the Make Your Own?
