plain jane
Ack. Double ack.:eek: I can't stress enough how valuable the service has been to me. I checked my account settings- they have sent me close to 300 email reminders since I joined early in 2008!! I know the cost is only $12, but ack! Now I'm left to wonder if I'd rack up that much in fines (or more :svengo:) if I do without or if I'm better off just signing up. I don't like decisions like this. Spend money or spend money.:001_huh: It looks like they are still offering the basic book due-back service for free but I mostly use the service for the numerous holds I place on a weekly basis. Anybody else feeling :svengo:??
Crissy
Have you checked with your library's online system? Mine provides the same sort of email reminder at no cost.

I guess I will have to discipline myself and check my account every few days. Another excuse to be on the on-line. ;) And since I'm on the internet, I may as well pop by here for a bit and see what everyone's up to, right? Annie Laurie
That threw me for a loop too. I have a bad track record with library fines and since doing library elf for the last year or two, I don't have near as many late books. I guess I will pay the fee. Our library doesn't have a reminder option. ETA: $12/yr is for one card, I have 6 so will have to pay $20, iirc.
GailV
Really? I haven't gotten any notice about this yet.
Denise in IN
Well, bummer. Our library does have a reminder service, but Library Elf saves me tons of time, since I am keeping track of six cards for our family. I'll probably pay the fee when I have too, though, because the Elf saves me at least $20 in fines every year.
Jumping In Puddles
check here on the library elf site. If it has "subscribed" next to your library name, then your library paid the subscription fee all cardholders! You won't have to pay to subscribe. Library Elf has been one of those wonderful freebie services that just made my life simpler and better. Now I have to pay. :glare: My motto for this year is Simplify, Simplify, Simplify. Having library elf has simplified my life. I think I just talked myself into paying them the $20. bah.
