Susan in TN
Just had to get this out (after being asked every 5 minutes by dh or dd.) This baby is NEVER coming out. Ever. Stop. Asking.
Jami
:grouphug: I'm with you Susan. :) Though my dh and kids really don't bring it up unless I complain about something. But I have to chuckle at things like people calling and if I don't answer they leave a message on the machine that says, "you're not home, you must be having the baby." Nope, just don't want to answer the phone. ;) When was your due date? I'm at 41 weeks today, if my due date is accurate and I think it is. Not fun, but I've done the induction/pitocin route and I'd rather just wait it out!
LisaKinVA
I'm sorry... I feel your pain (I really, really do). When I get up every morning, I get asked if the baby is going to be born today.... :grouphug: Abby seems pretty content to stay where she is right now. Of course, if I could predict when a baby would be born with any accuracy, my dh could quit his job and stay home all day with me -- I'd be in some kind of demand!
mommaduck
:grouphug: Totally understand!
swellmomma
Susan I see you haven't posted for a few minutes does that mean you are having a contraction and the baby is coming??? :) don't shoot me
praisefor3
When my first one was born, there was an office pool at my work where each person had contributed money to "bet" on the exact time and day she was born. On the weekend before she came, I got calls from co-workers at their "chosen" time to see if they had won the pool. When I would tell them that I was not even in labor, they freely shared their frustration and disappointment that I hadn't delivered when they wanted! After the last call on Sunday afternoon, I hung up crying and telling DH, "They all act like I'm doing something wrong! I can't help it!" We left the house to drive to a local trail and take a walk...where I finally went into labor. :) My others were all induced early so that was the last speculation bet that I was the subject of! dirty ethel rackham
Just had to get this out (after being asked every 5 minutes by dh or dd.) This baby is NEVER coming out. Ever. Stop. Asking. In my experience, most moms seem to need to get to this particular moment of despair before the baby will actually come;). Take a bath and do something wonderful for yourself. Bula Mama
LOL!!! Now THAT'S a blast from the past! Hang in there and I hope that you won't need to state that soon because it will be obvious that something's happening!!!!
Mommy22alyns
I stopped answering the phone and calling people from about 38 weeks on with Becca. :glare: At least everyone knew when Sylvia was coming out! :grouphug:
Susan in TN
Thanks everyone! I had a good cry and am now eating some chocolates and watching an old Pink Panther movie. :D
joannqn
Just take care of yourself. My youngest was 15 days late and my due date was very accurate. Dh and I weren't worried. Everyone else was. I still wonder to this day how long he would have waited to be born if we weren't forced to induce.
Renee in NC
Sorry! My dh just keeps asking me, "Tonight?" every time I have another *painful* Braxton-Hicks contraction. Three more weeks.
Rosie_0801
Sorry! My dh just keeps asking me, "Tonight?" every time I have another *painful* Braxton-Hicks contraction. Three more weeks. I'll race ya ;) I'll probably win because they'll induce me because of the gestational diabetes. The midwife asked me the other day about braxton hicks, but I can't tell the difference between that and a baby punching me in the bladder. To the OP: Look on the bright side. You definitely don't have three more weeks to go and since you aren't diabetic, you can eat cake. You also have my permission to take the wretched phone off the hook and refuse to check your email. Good luck! :) Rosie

I am pretty sure mine is on the smaller side - 8 pounds or so. I have had one over 9 pounds, so I imagine if I had been gestational diabetic, they would have induced me too! Sue G in PA
Boy do I feel your pain...or I FELT your pain. None of us thought my baby would EVER come...he did, btw. :) And so will yours...praying something will happen soon! :)
JFSinIL
I get you! When I was expecting my first, twins, everyone KNEW twins would come early, and my folks bought plane tickets in advance to be here to see the newly born, or at most few weeks old, baby boys. My folks got here before the boys did. They ended up 9 days late (I was as big as Kate Gosslyn...only I am shorter so I even looked bigger!) and came the day before my folks had to fly back to CA. Babies are no respecters of our plans or schedules!
