TKDmom
Doesn't WTM recommend starting Latin in 3rd grade? (I loaned out my book so I can't look it up myself right now). So, it seems like you could start as soon as you're ready to. I'm looking forward to starting it next fall when dd turns 8.
arcara
Yes, TWTM recommends beginning in 3rd grade. Some start here as early as 5-6 years old with Song School Latin. I started my 8-year-old this year in Prima Latina, and she's doing very well.
King Alfred Academy
I am doing Song School Latin with my second grader this year and it is going great. It is a gentle approach that mainly teaches vocabulary and little grammar. My Ker has even learned it just by being present in the room and listening to the songs...they are pretty catchy and have a tendency to get stuck in your head. Next year we are going to start working through Latin for Children Level A. I say, "Go for it"!
Alana in Canada
John Stuart Mill started at three, I believe--though that may have been Greek. I say start as soon as you find a curriculuum that fits!
chanda7
I think your kids are at a perfect age. Have fun!
