Deece in MN
I can type without my fingers getting cold and stiff. :) Last night about 10 minutes before leaving for work our furnace went out. My dh put a call into the guy who came out in Nov. to fix our furnace. He never got back to us and this morning I said we need to call someone else. It was 52 in the house this morning and that was with a few space heaters running. Luckily we didn't have any pipes freeze or anything like that. So, the new guy comes out and finds a piece of fan blade from the old motor that was replaced in Nov stuck in the new motor. The old fan had disintegrated and a piece of it must have blown up into some of the piping and finally worked its way back into the new motor causing it to stop working. I am hoping this is the last of our furnace issues this year. We are going to talk to this guy who came out today about replacement options as we have been told that this furnace is close to the end of its life. I just want to be warm! :)
anissarobert
I'm so glad you are warm! We have had problems with our furnace this week too. We came home from my parent's house after Christmas and the house was 55 degrees. My poor dh had to crawl under the house and try to fix it because he is out of work and we don't have the money for a repair person. (The furnace is in the crawl space.) I'm so proud of him. He fixed it, even with no mechancal training.

I hope you make it through the rest of the winter with no problems!
ChemMommy
It's a delightful -6 on this side of Minnesota so I can really feel for your chilliness! Hot air pouring out of a vent is sure a delight in winter, isn't it!
