Omnibus- does it matter what edition books we use?

Recommended Posts

I know for Ancients you can, the only difference may be reading assignments, page numbers or line numbers may not line up.

I agree, but figuring out the actual reading can be tough when the text lists page numbers rather than sections or chapters. I try to have at least one copy of edition used, then we can figure things out for other editions.

With the translated texts I usually try to use different versions since it is fun to compare how different one translation is from another. For any text, it is interesting to compare the notes and/or introductions from different editions.

Thanks, this is good to know. I don't have the time to be flipping through books looking for pages LOL. If we go this route I will plan on buying the books.
