Olympics Commercials

I so rarely watch anything live that has commercials anymore, I am not used to this. Did that Subaru commercial with the rescue dog make anyone else cry?

The Figs commercial was…interesting. I hear medical stuff all the time, but I cringed just a bit while also laughing at the kind of dark humor of showcasing injury.

The one on Peacock about the little kid runner using AI to write the fan letter sort of baffled me.  That doesn't seem like something that AI companies would be proud of.

I missed that one, but we had a weird tornado siren going off.  Went to the basement only to decide it must have been a mistake when we turned to a different channel down there. There's been a few sprinkles and some thunder, but nothing on the radar that was even severe, and definitely no rotation. Our town even sent out a text that the movies in the park was still on for tonight.

Oh no.  I am glad it was a false alarm.  I'm watching on Peacock and assume that the ads change depending on what you watch?  Maybe I'm wrong.  We have been mostly watching sports that we don't know anything about, and I saw it a few times, but I don't remember what sports we were watching.

Watching on NBC.  IDK about the ads being different. I'd assume the ones for Olympics would be similar across the country and frequently replayed through the end of the games, but I honestly don't know that much about it.

I saw a Toyota ad on FB with the sound off, but it was visually very cool and included Paralympic athletes.

I thought that one was so bizarre! So instead of a little kid sending her sports idol a sweet handwritten letter with the usual kid printing and misspellings, she can use AI to send an impersonal email that reads like it was written by an adult? Because generic fakery is better than genuine sincerity???

I had the same thought! Even my kids commented on how weird that was.

Yes! This one was so odd. Let your daughter write her own letter to her idol!!!
