Shelydon Posted July 22 Posted July 22 I am usually sugar free because sugar makes me ache. I ate a scoop of ice cream and a small brownie last night and I can barely move my hands this morning. I am hoping I only have this for 24 hours. Sugar is so bad for my joints. 5 Quote
wintermom Posted July 22 Posted July 22 That's a shame. Is it just refined sugars that affects your joints? Perhaps you can get your sugar fix through actual fruit? I love making fresh fruit blender drinks. The completely satisfy my love of sweet things. Quote
Lori D. Posted July 22 Posted July 22 (edited) Wheat and dairy are inflammatory for joints as well. That could explain the pain and immobility today if you got a triple dose of inflammatories: sugar, wheat, and dairy with last night's ice cream and brownie. Edited July 22 by Lori D. Quote

Dairy and wheat don't seem to bother me, fortunately. But sugar!!! Ouch. Quote

My current favourite blender drink is mango, pineapple, and sqeezed juice from an orange and lime. If I have any frozen passion fruit, I add that in, too. I add in some milk at times, but it's good with just some water and ice cubes. Quote
klmama Posted July 22 Posted July 22 I'm so sorry you are in pain! I used to make a dairy-free ice cream substitute with frozen bananas and frozen strawberries. I ran them through a heavy-duty juicer, but a strong blender might be able to handle them, too, with the addition of a little juice. 1 Quote
