What should I put in my dog first aid kit? We go off grid camping fairly often. I want to have a doggie friendly kit. I added peroxide, charcoal, a pet friendly stop- bleed powder and an in-the-field first aid book. One that tells you what to do in an emergency, not just “ go to vet ER”. I plan to write down human med doses for our dog’s weight, so I am not trying to do math in an emergency. We always have basic first aid meds and supplies for people like Benadryl, bandages (stick on as well as gauze etc), wound wash,   razor, tweezers etc. We are never more than a few hours from a town, but not all towns have vets and I want to make sure she is stable enough to get there if needed.

One thing I was thinking about is maybe a soft muzzle?

Im sure there are lots of ideas I am missing. If size matters she is about 20lb Shiba-inu but we often have other dogs around too.

Other than what you’ve mentioned, I’d add a tick key (so much easier than tweezers for ticks) and be sure to have some kind of bag/crate/carrier to keep her relatively immobilized if needed. As much gauze as possible for anything in an awkward position that may require extra wrapping length. An inflatable “cone”?
