Gil Posted July 1 Posted July 1 Any nifty tips for helping a toddler who is having trouble understanding how to fold her clothes--mostly the long sleeved shirts? We've mastered the hanger, rolling sock pairings and folding our washcloth and (with a bit of support) towel. But it's going to take some divine intervention to get the folding of long sleeved shirts. What am I overlooking that could help her? Should we skip shirts and go to pants for now? Quote

They can just fold your clothes. (I don't know if there's a toddler sized one.) We have a super low bar for the whole family. No one here folds clothes "the right way," we only ended up using the shirt folder when we pack for vacation. Quote
HomeAgain Posted July 2 Posted July 2 You can make your own flip & fold, which is what we did when ds was younger. But it might be worth it to just simplify to "criss, cross, X, fold down, fold over." You get a rectangle, although not a standard one. Quote
Penderwink Posted July 2 Posted July 2 Make the arms hug the shirt, fold in half, fold in "half" top to bottom = good enough? If it’s super hard, I’d do something else that she is motivated to learn for a few weeks, then try again. Quote
Gil Posted July 5 Author Posted July 5 Yeeeeah, we're moving on to long-pants. She'd asked to learn to fold shirts, but we're going to move on to pants and just continue to do one shirt together each day. I think a part of the problem is that her shirts are "the same" on the front and back so it's hard for her to tell which side is the front of the shirt. Quote
