I listened to the first one, and I'll dissent. I thought their commentary on homeschooling reflected ignorance of not only homeschooling but also how homeschoolers are actually perceived. My kids have never had to prove they knew how to interact with people. That is such stereotyped garbage. Academic level....yes, for some schools. But by far they havent been viewed any differently than any other applicant. Their transcript has been accepted as printed.

And...I'm one of those backward homeschoolers who teaches their kids.

If I had a huge eye rolling emoji, I'd insert it here.

Listen to the ones with Dr. Michelle Evard and my dear friend Holly Ramsey.  They are both former homeschoolers turned college admissions consultants.  They do a good job of dispelling a lot of myths about homeschooling and give some great advice.

Thanks. I don't really need the advice. I was more curious about what was being shared. That episode was so far removed being truly helpful that it prompted me to respond. I have been offering free homeschool to college workshops since 2014. People leave my workshop well equipped with actual supportive advice, not caricatures and disdainful stereotype comments.

I had hosted these with other experienced homeschoolers for many years and Holly was in the audience at first and joined us on the panel for the last couple years I was involved.  She took the ball and ran with it creating a consulting business that dovetailed nicely with her writing coaching.

That first episode is an OLD one --- the one that they did recently was much better, in my opinion. I still roll my eyes a LOT when I listen to the podcast, but overall, it's good.
