Do you still use iron skillets?

Recommended Posts

We use ours whenever we're cooking something suitable. It's the only way we make cornbread, for example.

After hand-washing (using a nylon-bristle scrubber or stainless steel if needed), we dry it completely, rub a little olive oil back into it, and hang it back up.

Same.

I will add that we adore our cast iron skillets—they weigh a ton but they perform so beautifully.

We use our main cast iron skillet so much we just leave it on the stove.

Me, too! Just wipe it down and put it right back on the stove.

They are heavy, but I am making it my personal challenge to do everything in my power to never become too frail to lift a cast iron skillet. Something else may take me out, but I'm going to still be lifting heavy stuff when I go!

I rehomed  mine several decades ago. I was never in love with them and they were just too heavy. My wrists can’t handle the weight.

( My dishes are Corelle for the same reason)
