I'm picking up E because she wants to go to our class. She enjoyed dh's teaching.

I don't have any real plans yet because dh and I haven't discussed it yet. I'll check back in later.

I am continuing to clean out my work room.  It is desperately needed.  2 full bookcases done, next up is reorganizing maths.

I'm also being the chore enforcer.  DS lost his neckerchief and needs it for the parade tomorrow.  In between my work I'm checking on his idea of cleaning his room, taking out and replacing everything just to make sure no stone is left unturned.

Dinner: leftovers or hot dogs.

Good morning!

I got up a while ago to put the b’fast casserole in the oven. Enjoying my coffee now.

Shower. ✔️
Church - clothes I picked out are not gonna work, so figure that out. ✔️

Not really sure about much else.

Might take Ds to visit my mom?
Might do some prep cooking for tomorrow?

Definitely need to read some curriculum so I am prepared for new students this week.

Hoping Dd will call today.

Good  morning!

I got zero done yesterday, except I did finish the fairy garden, and cleaned the cup cabinet. So, today while the guys video game, I will work (a LOT) on DS's quilt. Hopefully I get the characters finished (3 to go), and if I am *really* diligent, add the borders. Then I need to figure out if I have, or need to buy, fabric for the backing.

DH plans to put together his wheelbarrow, so I will help him with that as needed.

Grocery store for milk and drinks/snacks for camp boy to take up (we send him with huge flats of gatorade & trail mix packets, which he puts in the "shared snacks" area, and they go *fast!*) (for the workers not the kids). Pick up DH's car while out.  Maybe make him swing by Target to get some more fencing socks.

Okay, so that is:
...coffee
...breakfast
....wheelbarrow building w/DH
....wash my wool stuff
....make sure Oldest does his laundry
....grocery store/car pick up/maybe Target
....quilt -- finish the characters
....quilt -- make/add the borders
....quilt -- check for backing fabric (if I have something, make the backing)
....at some point, board  game time with the family before Oldest heads back up to camp
....I'm in charge of dinner -- chicken, broccoli, etc.
....maybe also make the spiced peaches with (the rest of?) our peaches
....watch something & veg out
....go to bed

Busy day! Some of that may carry over till tomorrow. Also, from y'all's lists....I should put "inventory freezer" on the list, but....oof. Maybe if we end up heading for Costco, I'll put that on, b/c there is a 2nd one there that I'd love to get for the "stuff in packages" things, so that the main one can be *just* meat and quit getting so cluttered....

Oh! And here's the fairy garden, for @mom31257 and anyone else 🙂

The guys gifted me the little boot fairy house, the koi pond (in the front), the fairy with the bird bath, and the little dragon (over by the succulents); a student had given me the little white round planter with the birds on a tree, and DH had the other succulents in a sort of pot. I'll add some more plants, some stones to make a path, etc. and it will be a work in progress, but I think it's "so far, so good!"  We have it up on the corner of the patio.

Oldest made the little wooden "home" sign that's leaning against the boot; I'll wire it up today and hang it off the boot somehow. Or on a stick/post.

Three bookcases are done.  DS is amazed that folded clothes fit well in his dress with ample room to spare. 🤣  After seeing how nice it looked without candy wrappers tucked in and trash all over the top, he's motivated to hit up his bookcases and give them the same treatment.  We had a little chat last night where I expressed how much I was worried about him because he was so reluctant to have a clean room.  We went over the earmarks of depression and it was like a little lightbulb flickered.  I think the offer of friendly help today made it spark a little brighter. So, yes, he's looking for that elusive neckerchief, but he has his sheets in the wash, music going, and is happily cleaning.

Resting for me today. I've been resting for nearly two weeks because I just can't shake the nasty virus I picked up at Disney. This is kicking my butt harder than Covid ever did. When I was at the doctor's office on Thursday, half of their office was out sick. Something yucky is definitely making its rounds. I'm hoping everyone else is well and not caught up in this yuck.

There is so much I need to do. I worked hard the days before I left for Disney so there wouldn't be much for me to do when I got home and, boy, I'm glad I did. All that's gone to pot now but it could be much worse. Stuff like vacuuming and dusting are making my brain itch with the need to get them done but I'm still can't stay out of a bed for an entire day so I'm trying to give myself permission to let it slide but it's hard. At least I'm getting the litter boxes done each day. I'm sure my cats are thankful.

I've been spring cleaning this morning. SIL is smoking pork butt for us today for eldests grad party in a couple of weeks so we will go over there this afternoon to help when it comes off the smoker.

Might go sit by a fire later too.

Oh, yuck; feel better, @stephanier.1765

Got one character done - two more to go.

Oldest's laundry is in the dryer, and folded some towels that got left in the dryer for who knows how long (thank goodness it was the dryer!).

DH did some outside stuff, we'll do the spiced peaches in a bit.

DS picked up something similar at Disney two trips ago.  He was down on the couch for at least two weeks, possibly 3, before he was able to start functioning again.  It was brutal, so I feel your pain. FWIW, ds has gotten ill at every Disney trip except the one we went on earlier this year - and I attribute that to wearing masks in close quarters, washing hands a LOT, as in after every ride, and using his Navage every evening.  He was much more vigilant because of what happened before and he wasn't taking any chances.

Feel better!

That was for @HomeAgain, sorry

Neckerchief found!  The deep cleaning worked.  It was actually bagception: inside a bag he took on a short hike tucked into his larger daypack, nestled inside his overnight bag.  All from the last weekend trip he did.

My workspace is nearly clean.  DS just has his floor left.  We're both taking a break until after 6pm when it cools off again.

A little of both:

Right now I am reading the board and drinking a beer.

My hubby is working on repairing the panel of fencing that fell over.

At about 3:00 all of my grandkids are going to show up so we can babysit while their parents go shopping.

Then I suppose that we will have to come up with something for dinner.

Mostly resting this afternoon, I think. It’s gray outside and feels like a good day for a nap!

Had leftover b’fast casserole and fruit for lunch.

Not sure about dinner.

@TheReader, that is so cute and fun!!

@stephanier.1765, I'm so sorry you are sick. Feel better soon!

Church was good, and E enjoyed the class again.

We had leftover hibachi for lunch.

Dh and I are finally planning our vacation since it isn't far off now. We are looking at Door County and the UP in Michigan.

Not restful here.

Enduring my son’s anger while enforcing new limits on screen/gaming time. Ugh. It is hard bc he doesn’t have many irl people to hang out with. He hates being bored, but doesn’t have real hobbies or interests besides sports. Limiting screen time and providing some structure as an on ramp to improving that scenario. He may or may not cooperate. He’s his own worst enemy, for sure.

Big T-storm rolling in here, so going to the Y as an option will have to wait for a bit.

@ScoutTN, I'm sorry!

We have hotels booked for Green Bay, Munising, and St. Ignace. I can't wait to see Mackinac Island! We had music from the movie, Somewhere in Time, in our wedding.

Oldest's laundry is done, and my wool wash is done

DH made dinner for lunch, which we'll eat for both meals, so that took that off my plate - he ended up grilling and such, since Oldest was/is home today (but goes back to camp tonight)

Did the grocery run & got DH's car; skipped Target b/c crowds. I'll do that on Weds when I'm out & about

Had a nap

Heading upstairs to see what everyone's doing - if the guys are video-gaming, I'll do the next character on the quilt; otherwise, board game time.

Working on the rest of the grad party menu. I am not liking having to figure out how many people to serve and how much they will need (knowing the date is prime party season, so a good handful of people probably have multiple parties)

I’ve never heard of that movie, put it on my list.

Mackinac Island is a place I’d like to see too.

This child is going to be the death of me.  It's Memorial Day weekend in a high tourist spot.  Our neighborhood crossroad had a major accident yesterday. He just got his bike back after being grounded from it for riding with no light and no helmet.  So what does he do?  Cross the busy street at almost 8pm, on his bike, to hang out by the dock.  No light, no helmet.  I'm shaking my head at how someone can be so smart and yet so clueless.

Apparently my evening tasks include filming him riding down our street at 8:30 to prove to him he really can not be seen, and then figuring out how to get through to him that it won't be tolerated.  We have very few rules and he's hellbent on breaking all four: clean up after yourself, be safe, communicate, take care of your responsibilities.  That's it.  The sum and total of my expectations.

@HomeAgain So sorry! You are a good mom!

The laundry has taken over the sofa for now.

Dd called and talked for an hour! She’s having a great time working at camp. Training week is done and kids come tomorrow. I need to mail a few things to her on Tuesday.

Thanks.  This is my kid who has to have everything very explicit.  "If you do this, this WILL happen.", but if that thing does not happen, it isn't real.  It makes safety a huge challenge. There can't be maybes, it has to be black and white.  I showed him the video, and the postings from our accident page of the two adult riders who were hit in broad daylight yesterday on two different streets, and explained to him that the area is full of visitors right now who are not looking out for riders.  They want to get to the beach/marina/campground/amusements as quickly as possible to maximize their vacation. And we get the weird things, too, like the guy who went on a stabbing spree over a few towns and crashed right outside our neighborhood two days ago. Then when I was trying to figure out how else to get it into his head that "you must wear a helmet and have lights' is a law in this house, he went out to the garage, made sure his helmet was fitted, and placed his lights on the charger.  One step better than pretending they don't exist.  I am considering upping his summer wardrobe, too, since he's wearing his dry weave hockey shirts (all black) as play clothes.  I can find similar in brighter colors if he wants those.
