Is there a way to turn off AI search? It’s terrible. I am unsure if all the results are AI or just some, and it seems to want to answer my question from its own “brain” rather than bringing me good links that are relevant.

It’s really disrupted my getting medical information when I research picky questions where I want results from journals and such.

Is the issue google or safari? I've been getting those idiotic AI summaries too and it's really wearying. It's happening on my desktop and I assumed it was google. I use two browsers, so I should see if it's happening in both.

Adding: That's weird. I'm getting the AI results in google searches on chrome but not google searches on safari. I haven't *updated* my safari in a while but i'm pretty sure I updated the chrome browser. I'll go see if there's a way to turn it off. As you say, it's stupid. I don't want regurgitated summaries that cause me to miss nuance.

If I understand what you are referring to, I heard them recently referred to, by a former Google search leader, as "on-line search results". I'm case that makes it easier to find a way to turn them off. I find them annoying too 😝

There’s one on meta that’s so annoying. The button is in a place that’s really easy to scroll over then it messages you information. It even suggests the questions for you! Seriously! Let me think of my own questions and think my own thoughts…
