Good morning!

Daddy came down yesterday, and we went to his sister's house for her birthday. She turned 88, and he'll be 87 this summer. My exercise friends texted about going for a walk, so we did that last evening.

I talked to a mom wanting two kids to join my M/W classes. One will need some tutoring this summer to be ready for that class, but I don't mind that since I don't have regular income in the summer.

I will get my permanent crown this morning and go to the post office after.

Happy Wednesday!

I have been dumb lately.  Procrastinating and fooling around instead of working and sleeping.  (To be fair, I did have 2 board meetings and a major transaction yesterday, so I was pretty fried, but I should have at least slept.)  I got maybe 1 hour of sleep overnight.  I can't sleep in today because (a) it's garbage day and (b) I have at least 3 clients / parties expecting to see work from me in their inboxes this morning.

So anyway.  I'm awake.  And my mini air conditioner is on, because my room is already so hot in the morning.

Done:

  • Took out the garbage.
  • Took out the dog and did a little walking / sun exposure.
  • A little kitchen work.
  • 2 cups of coffee are within arm's length.
  • Caught up on emails, calendar, social media, and electronic school stuff.  News can wait until later.

To do:

  • Client work
    • Prioritize for maximum client satisfaction.
    • Quick communications to prevent unnecessary nasty-grams.
    • Many invoices prepared and sent out.
    • Review bank account applications because one client thinks filling those out is my job.  (I told them it isn't, but they didn't hear me.)
    • Review many tax returns.
    • Fulfill several audit inquiries.
    • Several quarterly / year-to-date financial packages.
    • A few annually required reports.
    • Lots of filing and so many other things if I get to them.
  • Yoga etc.
  • Eat fruit, veggies, take vitamins, drink water.
  • The Terminix guy is coming today.
  • A little reading?
  • Walk the dog in the evening.
  • Whatever else gets done.

Good morning!

We got in LATE last night (midnight?), slept well, the trip was lovely and we were reminded on arriving home why it's good we are making the kids come with us in July -- with Oldest off at camp, the other 2 are self-sufficient enough to cook, etc., but neither of them does dishes. LOL! So, that was this morning's chore - load the dishwasher with the 2 days of dishes they'd left us.

Anyway, today's list:

....coffee
....unpack/do any laundry that may need doing
....put the CDs away

....nap at some point
....check registrations, update my files
....enter the last of the 2023/2024 school year receipts so that I can see if any supply fee was leftover or not
....get DH to make my 2024/2025 page to my excel file for that, so I can start entering that stuff
....look over the new science that arrived, probably not in detail yet
....find some games for this afternoon's tutoring -- last day, tomorrow is last day of school, the kids will be VERY inattentive - Must take games!
....go tutor   Went; mom flaked & called to cancel once I was there, LOL!
....come home, eat dinner (Middle cooking again???)  *DH is going to make sloppy joes
....take DS to church, grocery shop, pick DS up from church
....watch TV/veg out
....go to bed

Have a good day, all!

Good morning!  I've already taken ds to school, went on a 5 mile walk, and stopped by the grocery store to get eggs for dinner.  I think the rest of today will be reading a good book, having some coffee, and maybe watching a bit of tv.  Not much to tackle today.

I got the crown. This is on a front tooth, so it's in a place to feel so different. I don't have the straightest teeth, so they brought this out to put it more in line, but that makes it feel like it is sticking out into my gum. I hope it just takes some time to get used to. First-world problems, right?

I'm doing more laundry. Not sure what is next.

Made two hotel reservations and paid a bill.

Checked on a job possibility. Looks interesting! Will apply tomorrow.

Had a good, late b’fast.

I made lunch for us.

I put a load of laundry in the dryer and folded most of it.

I've been cleaning out emails from and sent to students and still have more to go on that.

slow unmotivated day, but I got all the things done aside from having DH make my excel sheet page. I should maybe put "learn excel" on my list sometime....Ha!

grabbing a snack and goofing off till tutoring time. Also have to let the mom know I won't be back  next year.

Well, that was fun! LOL!!! Went to the tutoring kids' house - no answer. Knocked again - heard a little voice inside ask who it was. I answered. Nothing.

My phone rang - Mom calling to say they needed to cancel, as they went out to eat, so sorry, etc. LOL!  I did tell her I can't do next year; she asked about Saturdays. She does pay well, but I think not well enough to give up my Saturdays. The girls are both doing well, I've mostly been doing homework help; she'll have no problem finding someone new (and the girls barely need it).

So now I have free time! yay!

Sent a book list and some schedule related emails to tutoring students’ families.

Printed some calendar things.

Found a book I’d misplaced.

Making dragon noodles. Everyone snacked around 4 and no one is hungry now, but around 8:00, both guys will be opening the fridge, looking for a main dish sort of thing.

SIL invited us to her house for Memorial Day get together. Hooray for something to do!

Sorry you do not get to sleep in after all! I do hope he finds the Chromebook, though.

What are dragon noodles?

Dragon noodles is a recipe from Budget Bytes. Ramen, ground meat (We use pork, but anything will work.) sauce, green onions and peanuts. Sauce is equal parts soy sauce, chile-garlic sauce, and brown sugar. I add some sesame oil and use less sugar. Easy, fast, cheap, tasty, filling. Though certainly not super-healthy.

Busy times around here... popping in for a quick 'hello'

School for my students ends next week. I am busy planning summer school. As well as ordering supplies, planning for new furniture, cleaning my room and doing a million more things.

Eldest has high school graduation tomorrow night, I am thinking it will be chaotic. It's their largest graduating class so far (still only 106), but they told us only 4 people per student only they aren't issuing physical tickets and my student has overheard multiple students talk about how much family is coming.

I'm busy transferring old photos to Google photos so I can order some prints for a physical display board during the evenings while we watch TV. Since they are all in different folders, it's a pain.

Open house is not for a couple of weeks. We rented a park shelter along a local river so it's just food we have to take care of.

VBS Zoom was good! I should probably go into work at the church some tomorrow.

Ds is enjoying having his license. Drove to the grocery to get $5 sushi and some sparking fruit juice for his dinner/snack.

Gonna read a bit, then listen to a podcast.
