Today is not being tackled much here.

  • no cooking.  People who are hungry know where the fridge is
  • no yardwork. It's raining again.
  • house is clean.  No need to do much more than dust-mop and wipe down surfaces.
  • Violin is mostly done, but my short little hand hurt from the stretch and needed a break.
  • need to determine if ds is playing this week.  He was invited to participate in a tournament starting tomorrow but the hours are a bit wonky.
  • pay the mortgage

I'll add to the list as I do things, but right now it's looking pretty relaxed.

Not much tackling here either.

Help Dd pack her car. I’m sad that she’s leaving tomorrow for the summer.

Make sure bathrooms get cleaned.

Go see mom? Maybe tomorrow?

Go to a wedding this evening. Need a card for the gift.

Eta: Dd is up, so we are going to a new, independent coffee shop for b’fast. 😊

DS declined to participate, thank goodness.  He has state testing all week and the tournament hours would have had him getting about 5 hours of sleep one night and not much more on the others.  It helped that I showed him the times this morning after he bounced out of bed all chipper and happy from getting a full night's sleep without an alarm clock.  He's glad to have been asked, but not willing to sacrifice for it.

Breakfast is done, dishwasher is going, and I did about 20 minutes of yoga. It's still raining.

Coffee shop was cute. Will go there again. Parents of one of Ds football teammates own it.

Dd is off to dog-sit.

Dropped a few bags at thrift, put gas in my car, and bought a couple greeting cards.

Today is my 22nd wedding anniversary. But we are in a really hard season (have been for years, maybe will always be?) and don’t feel very close or like celebrating. And we are going to a wedding tonight. It should be a fun date - lovely ceremony, dinner and dancing, champagne and cake - but it will actually be stressful and uncomfortable. 😢

Howdie, happy Saturday!

I was up most of the night working, so I slept until like 1:30pm!  Don't tell anybody!  (Though, before kids, it was not strange for me to sleep until 2pm on the weekends, ha!)

Yesterday I said I was having trouble prioritizing a lot of work, and then I said it would get done.  It did.  I am really glad to get a couple big-ish things off my plate so I can move on to other things.

I have so many things I can tackle today.  Which will I choose?  Here's a tentative list:

  • Yoga etc.
  • Eat fruit, veggies, take vitamins, drink water.
  • A little reading.
  • Clean out the pantry.  Something smells suspicious in there.
  • Make Kid2 do that dang traffic court waiver already.
  • Some laundry, kitchen cleaning.
  • Box and drop off some donations?
  • Walk the dog - in the park?
  • Catch up old financial stuff for a nonprofit.
  • Catch up on financial stuff between me & my kids.
  • Check in with at least one of my sisters.
  • Client work:
    • Work with colleague to respond to some billing questions.
    • Respond to an investor regarding their accounting questions.
    • Catch up on some reporting I was technically supposed to do last month.
    • Lots of invoicing / "loan servicing."
      • Includes creating some new entities in Quickbooks.
      • Should also work ahead on some routine accounting while I'm in the Quickbooks files.
    • Review about 50 audits & tax returns.
    • Some analysis & communications regarding upcoming June reporting deadlines.
    • Calendar work, filing, trying to get my inbox back down to an acceptable size.

I hope I can get lots done without getting a headache.  Things that will give me a headache if they happen before I'm coffee'd up:  too much talking, any discussions about things I may or may not have done wrong, news about people fighting / disagreeing, any sass between the kids & adults here, or a bout of loud barking from my valuable watchdog.

Mortgage is paid, as well as dh's vehicle renewal.  It's not raining finally.  I received an invite on ds's behalf for a birthday celebration this morning while I was declining the tournament, to a place where he will definitely have fun.  It made me realize we don't have this kid over enough when we do things, so maybe I'll take the two boys to the theme park this summer if his parents agree.

@ScoutTN, I'm sorry you don't feel like you are in a place to enjoy celebrating, but I hope the wedding will be better than you anticipate.

I picked up E this morning, and we went to Gibbs Gardens. We ate at Culver's on the way back because she LOVES the cheese curds. She asked me if she thought it was legal to marry cheese curds. LOL!

I don't have specific plans for the rest of the day, so I'll play it by ear.

I watched a movie on Netflix.

I helped dh put pictures from his trip to Israel in a slideshow for class tomorrow. He spent two weeks studying there back in 2013.

The wedding was fun. The bride’s family are old money and the reception was like something out of a magazine. Huge, beautifully decorated tent, spectacular flowers, delicious food and drinks, a great band. Hordes of people. A fun evening.

Home and winding down now. Going to early service with Dd tomorrow, so need to get up earlier than our Sunday usual.
