HomeAgain Posted May 10 Posted May 10 I'm trying a new Friday experiment called "Not prodding ds". Not making him eat breakfast, do chores, get dressed.....it took him more than half his time so far to make it up to his bedroom and figure out he needed to do things. Breakfast hasn't been asked for, but I know his school has it available if he's hungry. I *DID* mow the lawn yesterday. No mouse in sight. Good thing, too, because we're right back to the rain. Today: take ds to school schoolwork violin coffee time organize the weekend with dh YPT recert for scouts. I might compete with ds25 on this because he needs to do it, too. dinner: lemon chicken. It was meant to be yesterday but I worked late, and everyone else in the house was trying not to disturb. We had burgers on the grill instead. family time? Maybe. 5 Quote
HomeAgain Posted May 10 Posted May 10 DS thinks on Monday he might get up earlier so he has time to relax for a few minutes and let his body wake up more. He ended up with a glass of chocolate milk and a protein biscuit for breakfast, but he has an early lunch today so I'm not too worried. I am enjoying the rain right now. It's so nice to just have the quiet. 4 Quote

mom31257 Posted May 10 Posted May 10 Good morning! I have a student coming soon for tutoring on a final. I am leaving town this morning. I'll stop by my sister's house in north Atlanta and then head down to our old hometown. I'm going to a homeschool graduation tomorrow. My private student was supposed to be in this, but there is still no word on him. 7 others are graduating that I have taught in my math classes and co-op. I'm spending the night with my best friend there, so I'm excited about that! I hope you all have a great weekend. I'll come back home tomorrow night. 4 Quote
LifeLovePassion Posted May 10 Posted May 10 No school today for me. Will spend time spring cleaning and maybe going to Costco. It is going to be beautiful out so I might work in my gardens as well. Eldest has their graduation ceremony at the community college tonight. 4 Quote
HomeAgain Posted May 10 Posted May 10 Oooh, I just saved dh! I encouraged him to get flowers for his mom two weeks ago. And I just noticed, he did not. I've been the one doing it for many years and I just needed him to pick out a bouquet, any bouquet. Thankfully the florist that I use is right around the corner from her place and squeezed in a "florist's choice" arrangement for me, which is perfect. And they're delivering tomorrow, so no worry about them being left on the doorstep because his mom will be with his sibling at their place on Sunday. 3 Quote

SKL Posted May 10 Posted May 10 Howdie, happy Friday! I'm actually glad it's Friday, which is not usual for me. Tonight is Prom Night for my kids. They are on their own, but I hope to get some photos. We old people will probably go eat at a restaurant the kids don't like, since their grumbling won't be a factor. They may or may not bring their friends over late at night. Done: Cleaned for the maid. Ate fruit & took vitamins. "Yoga etc." Sent out some client work. Caught up on calendar, news, social media, emails, and electronic school stuff. Asked our CPA a nonprofit question. To do: Lots more client work. Pay bills and other personal work. Photograph the kids in their dresses. Eat out. Walk the dog. Whatever else gets done. 3 Quote
ScoutTN Posted May 10 Posted May 10 (edited) Texted with Dd. She’ll be home late tomorrow. Almost forgot! School athletic recognition thing tonight. Ds plays, but won’t get any special honors. His co-op sport is not included in this event. He’ll have to shower and dress presto quick! Good thing school is only a mile away. Edited May 10 by ScoutTN 2 Quote
LifeLovePassion Posted May 10 Posted May 10 Ran 2 additional errands after Costco. Came home and picked my rotisserie chicken off the bones and divided burger into 1lb silicone Ziploc bags for the freezer. Been doing some general cleaning. Unclogged the tub drain and who knows what else before we get ready for graduation. 3 Quote

ScoutTN Posted May 10 Posted May 10 (edited) Sitting in the athletic awards. Low turnout, which is typical. Very dull, but hopefully won’t last too long. Mic is too loud, bleachers are not comfortable and a/c is freezing. All done. Yawn. Making dinner. Edited May 11 by ScoutTN Quote
LifeLovePassion Posted May 11 Posted May 11 Graduation #1 done. Earned an AA degree while in high school through the state program and received that diploma tonight ( almost 2 weeks before high school graduation). Caught a weak glimpse of the northern lights as they are just starting 1 Quote
