Ting Tang Posted May 9 Posted May 9 This year, we read old classic living books on American and Canadian history (This Country of Ours and The Story of Canada). I'd love to find a good resource on the history of Mexico, preferably written in a similar style. I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to the history of our neighboring country to the south. Are there any good living books? Upper elementary/middle school level. I really like older books (make for great discussions on how we've evolved since). Quote
Foofaraw Posted August 30 Posted August 30 It’s not Mexico specifically, but Marion Lansing has a couple books on South America that are similar: https://archive.org/details/againstalloddspi0000lans/page/n14/mode/1up https://archive.org/details/liberatorsheroes0000lans 1 Quote
featherhead Posted August 30 Posted August 30 I wonder if Runner in the Sun might be a good living book for that. 1 Quote
Ting Tang Posted August 31 Author Posted August 31 Thank you both very much! I will check these out! Interestingly enough, Rod & Staff grade 6 has an entire social studies/history/geography book on Latin America, so I think that will be a good starting point for us. 1 Quote
