Thanks for starting us off!

Today my list is pretty small -- coffee, pack real quick, load the car, wake the kids, head to Austin for our mini-vacay (just an overnight) before Oldest takes off for the summer (working summer camp, leaves Monday, comes home in August).

Looks like we'll have thunderstorms in Austin this afternoon, so we plan to get there, do some outdoor stuff, eat a late lunch, then hotel and hang out while it storms, then maybe DH & I will fence at a friend's club (or not).

Have a great Thursday/Friday!

Good morning.  Today is such an ennui day........I have my list but not sure how much I want to tackle.

  • made ds breakfast.  He struggles with "different" so eats 1 of 3 things usually: yogurt, oatmeal, or possibly a frozen waffle when he's tired and grumpy.  I got him to try breakfast tacos with the caveat that if he didn't like them, I'd make him oatmeal.  Outcome?  DS now has 4 items he'll rotate through.
  • schoolwork (don't want to)
  • make worksheets
  • bake cookies
  • tutor
  • dinner: lemon chicken w/capers over spinach and pasta, roast carrots.
  • 10,000 steps?  Maybe
  • wash the sheets.
  • mow the lawn?  Mmmmm....maybe only if I make a lot of noise first to scare off any mice in the shed.
  • begin planning activity set up for an event next month.  I do a little table for siblings and "alternative enrichment" when the main activity is too overstimulating for some of the older kids.  I want to make sure I have everything ready to go before the day of.

@TexasProud, thanks for starting us off!

The tornado sirens went off 3 times last night, so we spent a lot of time in the laundry room and pantry. We had so much rain!! Schools are closed today because of flooding, power outages, and trees down. I've mainly heard about businesses being flooded more than much damage.

Dh and I watched Amazing Race this morning. We discussed some possible summer plans, and he is watching one of the Planet of the Apes movies.

I was supposed to meet with a student this afternoon, but their basement is flooded and they have work to do.

I have final grading to do. I have a bit of financial housekeeping to do, too.

Hope you all enjoy your day!

Just found out that our group got waitlisted for a big AHG event, for which I would spend oodles of time this summer. Ugh. Not sure what happens next. I am not the decision-maker. There is a similar event in a different location on a different date.

Had lunch.

Filled a pillbox.

@mom31257 What a rough night.  The weather has been crazy.  Was that student found?

I've done a lot, but I am losing energy.  I really don't want to do anymore...  But I'm off to tackle the next thing...

Not yet. I can’t even imagine what his dad is going through!

I hope you get some new found energy!

Making progress on AHG stuff. Might be the only thing on my list that gets done!

Dinner is whatever is here. They can figure it out; we have plenty of food.

Ds hasn’t texted for a ride yet. Free sports physicals at school and no football practice today.

Our good friend's son ran away and was gone for 3 days. Police helicopters were out searching for him. But he was eventually found unharmed.
Edited to add, my point is not to give up hope!  He may still be found alive and well.

Did PT
Started the dishwasher

Gonna rest a bit. Tired bc I woke several times during the storms last night. Though we had only thunder and medium rain - no wind or flooding.

In a while:

Change for AHG
Leftovers for dinner
Head out

We went this afternoon and ordered the whole door unit for $2075.  I am really hoping nothing falls through with that co-op for next year!

I met with a student online for a quadratic equations test emergency. I was called in for life support. LOL!

I made a Mexican taco bar for dinner and even pulled out my themed serving dishes. It was very good!

I've started grading the finals and projects. More to go.

I started a load of laundry, too.

AHG was good! We have a great unit of high school girls!

I prepped some lunch stuff and made hot cereal for Ds’ breakfast.

In my jammies, having hot tea. My bronchitis, leftover from the cold I had three weeks ago, is not quite gone and coughing hurts. Have the heating pad on my chest, around my ribs.

Hoping to be asleep by 10:30 or so.
