KBadd Posted May 3 Posted May 3 I'd like to try R&S English for grammar for my 5/6 grade son. I'm planning on starting with level 5. Which books do I need to purchase? Milestone Books sells a package of 4 books - Textbook, Worksheets, Tests & TM. Do I need all these? TIA! Quote
Servant4Christ Posted May 3 Posted May 3 (edited) You can order over the phone directly from the publisher cheaper than buying through Milestones. You will want the student text, teacher manual, and a test packet. I have the worksheets but rarely ever use them unless my son is really struggling with a concept and needs the extra practice or occasionally if DH is overseeing school. You can download a free placement test at Milestones to figure out what grade level to start with. Edited May 5 by Servant4Christ 2 Quote
Brittany1116 Posted May 4 Posted May 4 We have used the worksheets off and on over the years. They are handy and cheap. I'd probably say get them and decide if you like them. Tests depend entirely on if you are a parent who tests. You definitely want the TM and student book. The TM has miniature of the student book on every page, and instruction, helps, and answers in the margins. You don't have to look at the child's book to know what they are looking at. 1 Quote
Chris in VA Posted May 6 Posted May 6 Definitely do the placement test if this is your first R&S experience. Quote
