TheReader Posted May 3 Author Posted May 3 (edited) Survived yesterday. We did go to fencing, and as DH predicted, I felt better for going. Tired, yes, but it swapped it from a mental exhaustion to a normal physical tired. Then we did come home early, but the kids all came down and talked to us so we didn't get to bed early at all. I'll take it, though! So, today's list: ...all the coffee ...cancelled my Friday morning tutoring kiddo, thank goodness ...unload/reload the school bag(s) so that it's packed for Monday, ready to go into my car ...move the loaded bag(s) to the bedroom, make that area neat-ish so it doesn't drive me bonkers ...end of year teacher lunch/meeting at the co-op ...shop for the food for my class parties -- I have a list all made, so this should not take too long, I hope ...come home, put said food away ...help &/or supervise the guys decorating the house ...RELAX -- maybe watch Amazing Race, b/c @mom31257's comment from yesterday now has me curious/wondering who is going home ...shower/shave/etc. so I can wear the dress I want tomorrow, LOL! and not go w/wet hair in the morning That seems like less now that I write it down. whew. Maybe I can breathe. A friend texted me this morning to see if we're staying afloat, and it took me a minute to realize she meant b/c of the actual weather (north of us there's big flooding), not figuratively, LOL! The answer is yes to both, thank goodness. Happy Friday! Edited May 3 by TheReader 3 Quote
mom31257 Posted May 3 Posted May 3 (edited) @TheReader, I hope that didn't throw extra into your busy weekend! I slept in a bit, but it wasn't great sleep. Bible study coffee get a shower and get dressed to go out go out and get prices on door options lunch out while shopping look for ideas for the last day of classes early dinner because we have to be at church at 5 to volunteer for an event watch something and relax Edited May 3 by mom31257 4 Quote

Not at all, LOL! it will be a great form of relaxation, whether tonight or tomorrow/Sunday. But I *am* curious now! There's only one team *for me* that fits "makes me sad, but also didn't think they'd last this long" and I hope it's not them! We'll see. I feel like this season no team has jumped out as "definitely our favorite" though. 4 Quote
ScoutTN Posted May 3 Posted May 3 (edited) Good morning! Drizzly here, but supposed to stop later this morning. I am making coffee. Not lots planned for today. Mostly just enjoying Dd being home. Do PT exercises. ✔️ Bake pumpkin bread ✔️ Fill out meat CSA form. ✔️ YNAB Help Dd sort the stuff she brought home. Laundry ✔️ Boy from school to practice ✔️ Meal planning ✔️ Read Edited May 4 by ScoutTN 3 Quote
mom31257 Posted May 3 Posted May 3 @ScoutTN, will your dd be home all summer? Ds is going back to school today because graduation is tomorrow. One of his roommates doesn't leave until Monday because he is an international student. Ds has friends staying in Cleveland for the summer, so he'll probably go up there a lot. He doesn't have a job yet. If he gets a job in Chattanooga for the summer, he'll live with dd in her apartment. 4 Quote
ScoutTN Posted May 3 Posted May 3 (edited) @mom31257 Sadly for me, no. She is home for the weekend, then will go to the beach for a week with her fellowship group. There will be 700 college kids there for Summer Conference. After she’s back from the beach, she’ll be home for a week before she leaves for camp, where she will be on the operations staff for the summer. I will go to NC and hang out with her for a week in late June. I rented a cottage in a cute town so she can get away, rest, and recharge. She can sleep late, eat healthy food, read, watch movies, and shop. Working at camp is fun, but exhausting! And 12 weeks is too long if there’s no break. I am a little nervous about her driving through the mountains. It’s a longer, harder drive than she’s ever done. But she’s gotta learn sometime and she needs her car at camp. Her best friend from church will also be camp staff and is riding with her. Two good friends from college will also be working at camp - Dd recruited them - and that will be fun. ScoutTN Posted May 3 Posted May 3 (edited) Pumpkin bread is good! Doing lots of small housekeeping and organizing tasks. Many things going into the trash, recycling, and thrift bins. Anyone know where the second copy of our current car insurance cards might be? 🙄 In the past, Dh and I had them, but now with 4 drivers and three (hopefully 4 by July) vehicles, it’s easier if the extra copy just lives in the car with the registration. Except that I cannot find the ones for my car or Dh’s. Photos saved on phones may have to suffice…. Edited May 3 by ScoutTN 4 Quote

ScoutTN Posted May 3 Posted May 3 Whew! It’s getting hot fast! Pavement drying in the sun after a rain shower is a summer smell. 3 Quote
mom31257 Posted May 3 Posted May 3 @ScoutTN, we can print extra cards from our online account. Would you be able to do that, too? I priced the door we are interested in, and it comes in at just under $2000. Is that a good price for a full frame fiberglass door with 2 sidelights with special glass and the widest jamb they can order? It doesn't feel like it is overpriced, but I've never bought anything like this before. 2 1 Quote
ScoutTN Posted May 3 Posted May 3 I will check and see about the insurance cards online. I have never accessed our account that way, but surely it is not hard. 2 Quote
TheReader Posted May 3 Author Posted May 3 That sounds like a lot, but I have never priced a door, so I have no actual clue. I think if you've compared other things and this feels okay to you, probably it is. I went to the teacher lunch. Felt worse as I was there (my stomach is doing some weird "I might be hungry, or queasy, or something but I don't know which" thing), so came home right after and slept for *three hours* (after taking some meds). I feel a LOT better, so will head to the store shortly - timing it so I go late enough to pick up dry cleaning. DH will stay here and decorate, we have leftover stuff for dinner, and once I go to the store, nothing else but relaxing. Whew. 3 Quote
TheReader Posted May 3 Author Posted May 3 home from the store the house is decorated and ready all I have to do now is sit, relax, and veg out. Whew. Oh, and shower/shave. Later. 3 Quote
ScoutTN Posted May 4 Posted May 4 Talked with my people about tomorrow. Dinner was good. Running my laundry. (Did linens all day.) Gonna watch a movie with Dd. 2 Quote
