HomeAgain Posted May 2 Posted May 2 Good morning! I think the night's sleep helped ds. He was slightly better this morning. Today: finish working on ds's kilt laundry make tutoring cards yard work violin 10,000 steps Ikea? If there's time in the day take the trash to the dump help ds pack up for his weekend trip. He's heading straight from school tomorrow and won't have time for last minute things. 5 Quote
TheReader Posted May 2 Posted May 2 (edited) Good morning! We are so busy this week and next. Graduation for DS on Saturday (all day, b/c "we're saving you time, by having the rehearsal the morning of, instead of a separate night" - so come at 10 am for the 2 pm graduation, and no, we can't leave for lunch). Fencing tournament at our local club on Sunday. Because, when they announced it, I said "Oh, that's the weekend of DS's graduation! Can our event be on Sunday instead of Saturday so we can come??" Instead of realizing Oh, we'll be exhausted, we should skip it. So then they did move it so we could come.....so we have to come. Monday, my K & 1st last day and class parties. Weds my 2nd Grade last day and class parties. And then Weds right after, we leave to go to Austin for a mini vacay before Oldest takes off to work summer camp (leaves May 13, comes back Aug 4 or something). So. I'm already exhausted. Today's list, though: ....coffee ....go to the store and get the stuff to make a graduate display board/table/thing for DS ...come home, make the board (order any add'l pics I need) ....nap???? ....I think DH is doing dinner ....tutoring this afternoon -- if the mom is around, remind her I can only come Tues next week (she already said okay) ....fencing tonight after dinner ....come home, sleep In between, help DH with any cleaning. Also, research math stuff -- the third grader for next year had previously said yes, stick with Singapore. Yesterday when I told them I ordered it, they said "Oh, well, can we do something a little more old school.....Singapore is a little too Common Core....." (it's not, it's so not, but.....) So. Will return that when it comes in, and need to look up what else may be better. And see if one I'm thinking of, maybe I still have, or did I already toss it/sell it (we've been done with it for a while, so, who knows). So not a massive list, been working on everything all week already - craft stuff and goodie bags are all ready for the class parties, food for DS's party is maybe ordered (that has been a disaster, so hopefully it's actually ordered), I'll food shop for my class parties tomorrow so that I can get the fruit and it will still be good by Monday, etc. Oh, maybe today I can go ahead and reload my school bag for "party day" and move that to my bedroom so it's out of the way on our party day. Anyway. Happy Thursday? Edited May 2 by TheReader 4 Quote
ScoutTN Posted May 2 Posted May 2 Good morning! I have done a load of laundry, made coffee, and dropped Ds at school. Headed out shortly to help Dd move her stuff out of the dorm. Hoping we have time to go out to lunch. I have a PT appointment at 3:00. Dinner is tbd. Maybe chx pot pie? Tonight: read, take a walk 4 Quote
history-fan Posted May 2 Posted May 2 Good Morning Today is my Moms angelversary, the day she passed away. Remembering positive memories. Raining again today so housecleaning catch up, laundry, bathrooms, floors tracked down missing check it was delayed in the mail recipient received it. Continue doing research trying to find census records of an area in 1890’s find new show to watch 4 Quote

SKL Posted May 2 Posted May 2 I'm procrastinating again! I have a call in about an hour & have to prepare and send a report before the call. Why am I like this? Can I claim senioritis since my kids have it? Or is it the lovely weather trying to lure me away from my responsibilities? Besides today's call / urgent report, I really need to finish and send my last big accounting package today, and review & forward a number of client tax returns. Probably other stuff too, but these are what come to mind first. Done so far: Took the dog out & walked a bit. Ate a fruit, took vitamins. A little dish washing, a little laundry, a little tidying. Caught up on emails, news, social media, calendar, and electronic school stuff. A tiny bit of client work. To do: Client stuff: 2 client reports & 2 emails before conference call. Conference call. Review & forward tax returns. Complete one of my bigger accounting packages. Whatever else comes up that can't wait / whatever else I have time for. Yoga etc. One or more turns of laundry. A little reading. Eat veggies. Walk the dog. Whatever else comes up / whatever else I have time for. 5 Quote
TheReader Posted May 2 Posted May 2 @history-fan, thanks; hugs to you as you remember your mom today. Home from the store -- 4 stops later, I should have just gone to the last place, first, as originally intended. I blame DH, who asked me to drop off dry-cleaning, putting me on the other side of the highway, so I went in reverse order. But, I did find everything, am now going to take a nap/eat lunch and will make the board when I get up. 3 1 Quote
mom31257 Posted May 2 Author Posted May 2 @TheReader, congratulations to your ds and you, too! Enjoy your weekend despite the busy time it will be! @history-fan, thinking of you and hoping your memories bring comfort and joy! @ScoutTN, I hope the PT will help your pinched nerve! I did my Bible study this morning. 2 Zoom sessions are done. Next up is an in-person student. The laundry is in the dryer. I can't find an answer key I know I made for a project, so I will have to do the problems again. I mind the time more than doing the problems. LOL! 3 1 Quote
SKL Posted May 2 Posted May 2 I survived the call and sent out the related reports. 😛 Found some weird activity in a bank account, but hopefully it is explainable by the other party, and won't add too much additional work! I'm officially on the May page of my calendar, meaning, I've either cleared or moved forward the March and April to-do's. 😛 (Only 1 to-do had to be moved forward.) Should I take a break or dive into the next thing? ... 4 Quote
ScoutTN Posted May 2 Posted May 2 Got Dd moved out, had a nice lunch, drove back. Sitting in the PT waiting room. 3 Quote
ScoutTN Posted May 2 Posted May 2 PT was good, but scheduling is hard. Making chx pot pie for dinner. 3 Quote
TheReader Posted May 2 Posted May 2 Got the senior display board done, and I'm very pleased with it. Features his video game, some of his art, and his book (written for creative writing class), plus a few candid shots. Tutored the afternoon kids. I *think* there are 3 wks left, so 5 sessions, maybe 4 (b/c surely I can skip coming the actual last day of school, right??) Will confirm with the mom next week. DH got the house clean. Yay! Anything else will wait till tomorrow - time to eat, change, go to fencing. I'd skip, but.....:sigh: I may ask DH and see what he thinks. It would be SO GOOD to stay home, slowly do a few more things, rest, go to bed early, etc. I think he has a lesson scheduled, though, so he can't skip. 4 Quote
ScoutTN Posted May 3 Posted May 3 Kitchen is tidy. Laundry is working. Just ordered a new heating pad. Going to read and go to bed. 3 Quote
mom31257 Posted May 3 Author Posted May 3 After dinner, we played Ticket to Ride and I won with 9 tickets completed and 196 points. Woohoo! We watched Amazing Race, and I was sad for the last team. To be honest, I never dreamed they would last that long. I'm going to try and sleep in tomorrow. With dh getting up to get a shower and get ready, it can be difficult to stay asleep. There is no door between our bedroom and bathroom, just an open doorway area. 3 Quote

I really hated it for them! 1 Quote

My DH said afterwards (not having seen this interview/heard this) -- "that seems like a weird rule....like the show can use it to get rid of people...that doesn't seem right at all...." This makes me really wonder. 😞 1 Quote
