Mrs Tiggywinkle Again Posted April 5 Posted April 5 Two years ago I booked a cruise for this May. It was supposed to be our honeymoon that we never got. Well—I took my dream job as the program director for a college, and of course we are up for re-accredidation and state audits this year. I just found out our state audit is going to be the week after the cruise and while I had negotiated the time off when I took the job, the bottom line is that the first week of May is a really really bad time for me to be gone. I can work remotely from the cruise, if the internet is good enough. I can’t reschedule the cruise date since it’s paid off and we can’t cancel at this late date. Has anyone cruised RC and can tell me if the internet is good enough for Zoom meetings? DH doesn’t particularly want to go anyway and is likely to just sit on the balcony, so he doesn’t care if I spend the whole cruise working or not. This is the problem with booking so far in advance but it was what our travel agent recommended. Quote
livetoread Posted April 5 Posted April 5 We went on a RC cruise in Feb and the internet was fine. We didn't try meetings, but we streamed videos with no problem. It might vary from ship to ship. We were on the Explorer of the Seas which isn't one of the newer ones but still had no issues. Have a wonderful time! Quote
Lady Florida. Posted April 5 Posted April 5 We went on RC last year and it was good. Dh and I didn't get the streaming package but ds did and he didn't have trouble with videos. Quote
Mrs Tiggywinkle Again Posted April 5 Author Posted April 5 (edited) Of course we are in Bermuda Monday and Tuesday which are going to be my heavy meeting days. So I’m not even booking excursions or expecting to get off the ship. It’s so frustrating but at least the state is coming the week after, otherwise I’d have no choice but to stay home. I so wish I was able to reschedule this to December. Edited April 5 by Mrs Tiggywinkle Again Quote
JumpyTheFrog Posted April 5 Posted April 5 We were on Liberty of the Seas a few months ago and the internet was fast enough to use Netflix. We didn't try any video calls. Quote
