DB in NJ
My cookies look like someone sat on them! I know I measured everything right; it must be my baking soda :-( What can I do? I can't go out and get new. Do I just put the baking on hold until I get new or is there a substitute that will work??? Waaaaahhhh!!!!! KIN
Add a bit of baking powder. My ds messed up and put baking powder instead of baking soda in our cookies last week. They were definately puffy. :) They tasted fine, I'd try half the amount of baking soda.
Soph the vet
Did you use margarine instead of butter? That flat thing happens if you do that. Might not be the baking soda.
DB in NJ
Did you use margarine instead of butter? That flat thing happens if you do that. Might not be the baking soda. Nope. When it comes to baking Christmas cookies (or any baking in general that I do), I'm an purist. Nothing but the full tilt, fattiest, worstest for you but bestest tasting stuff. It's definitely the baking soda. Thanks for your help! I appreciate it :)
