history-fan
Good Morning Nice weather here too Traditionally we go to 2 cemeteries and place flags on graves. We also put flowers, fresh lilacs, and a stone on all family members.
hjffkj
Morning all. Dh and I had a slow start to our morning because dd3 was miserable in the middle of the night. So we slept in a bit and she woke up happy enough. I think we are still feeling a bit defeated about the pool issue so we might knock out a few small things like laundry, clean bathroom, and laying mulch around my mexican sunflowers. But other than that we just want to enjoy family time. We may go to the park
HomeAgain
Good morning! Done: Coffee with dh help ds with his project by helping him think of it as a "villain origin story" and organizing it instead of being chaotic violin 3.4 mile run. Oldest ds decided to take youngest running with him today so I managed to do a 10:40 pace. Not bad for not having run in a year! Now is lunch. For me: green salad with grilled chicken, blue cheese dressing and all the fixings plus a yogurt for dessert) and for the boys: cheeseburgers & chips. Then: laundry take ds to a birthday party down the road Dinner? Maybe pasta or something easy. I may have the fixings for pizza in the fridge, but ds might get enough of that from other places he's been this weekend. Or not. He inhales all the things.
hjffkj
Well after breakfast and coffee dh and I felt like being productive so we finished digging out the grass between the blue, laid mulch, and planted my last blueberry bush. Laundry has also been moving along nicely. Ds14 and I are going to construct the barrier to protect the blueberries from bunnies. I just need to find the twist ties I used yesterday for the other barrier. After that I'm done doing unless I get the energy to dig out another garden bed to plant the last few tomato plants I have and some start some seeds. We'll see. I've really been enjoying starting this garden, wish I had started things earlier in the season though. My goal is to have a garden big enough to provide veggies year round for us. But that is many years away since I slowly expand it every year.
mom31257
Good afternoon! We went to the early service at church. We just snacked on stuff for lunch. I watched a Poldark episode. Dh talked to ds, and he found out more about the accident. The woman driver, who hit our son's friend and girlfriend, was going 90 mph. She had lost her own husband two months ago, and she has two children around the same age as those who died. I'm sure she will be charged. Three families' lives are destroyed. Such a needless tragedy! Look over my school to-do list and see what I want to do this week. Ten and half weeks until my homeschool classes start back.
hjffkj
Finished putting up the barrier for the blueberries. Time to shower and relax for the rest of the day
history-fan
Back from both cemeteries. We were shocked at the first one when we saw all the pine trees were cut down. There had to have been over 50 pine trees all along the outside and alongside the main road going in to the large holy family monument. I have never seen the cemetery without trees and remember my parents talking about the trees and how nice they were and they remembered them from when they were young, so at least 80 years. It took awhile for my brain to register the new view. Also noticed several of the marker stones were getting grown over with grass, we will need to make another trip to trim around the markers so they don't disappear. As long as I am covered in bug spray I will go out and plant more vegetable seeds in the garden. Also plant a couple more raised containers of greens. I try to keep the greens rotating so we have an ongoing fresh supply for salads.
HomeAgain
Home from the party. Ds didn't mind walking there but he was not such a fan of walking back after hanging in the bouncy castle for 3 hours! He also ate: 5 slices of pizza 2 pieces of cake a cookie and a brownie a soda a large bottle of water The kid's mom is no stranger to teen boy appetites and made sure they all had plenty. 😄 However, dinner is now a 'feed yourself' meal here because I honestly can't imagine being hungry, but I'll give him an hour and he'll probably eat more. Or, fall asleep. It's 50-50 at this point.
hjffkj
Dh and I started a murder mystery puzzles this afternoon. It was nice setting it up downstairs and having kids come and go and help for a bit. After dinner we started a fire outside and roasted s'mores. Then we spent another hour doing the puzzle. Now we're going to watch the 4th Resident Evil movie with the older 3 kids.

ScoutTN
Just now, mommyoffive said: Holy cow that was fast!!! Congrats to him. Where did he end up getting a job? At the same restaurant where Dd works! He also has an interview at Publix later this week. The restaurant pays more and is easier to change, drop shifts with. But the grocery is closer to home (He could ride his bike.) and has more hours in a day (stockers work early am and at night) and might end up working around sports better? We will see how it works out.

It is this one, Bepuzzled Classic Mystery Jigsaw Puzzle - Sherlock Holmes, 1000 https://a.co/d/dKwJS4m. We found it at goodwill for a dollar. There is a story to read before starting the puzzle about a murder with a few suspects. Then you do the puzzle blind, meaning there is no image of the complete puzzle for you to look at. And then you use clues in the puzzle to figure out who did it
