Jackie in NE
I thought my dear mother was going to buy my dd a bitty baby doll. That is the thing my dd wants for Christmas above everything else. But dear mother is doing something else instead. I can't afford $42.00 for a doll. Are there any less expensive versions out there that approach the same level of quality? Say in the $25.00 range? :bigear: Thanks!
TN Mama
Maybe check into the Corolle brand. I think their dolls are between $25-$35 and are very good quality. I purchased some a few years ago from KidSurplus at a good discount, but I have no idea what expedited shipping would run. Another quality brand is Goetz and I've seen those in Tuesday Morning stores (as well as our local upscale toy store). Good luck!

Margaret in GA
I love Corolle Dolls, too. The quality is far superior to AG dolls in my opinion. Margaret
Guest
Someone bought my dd a Corolle doll last year for her birthday and it is an absolute favorite!!! She LOVES that thing, and our particular one is washable - what a lifesaver! We did buy her a BB this year for Christmas, b/c I know they are good investments, they can be fixed (if an arm falls off or something) and you should be always able to buy clothes for it, lol! I'm another vote for Corolle, though! :)
happyWImom
The year before last, I got dd a bitty twin on ebay-someone was breaking up the set and selling them individually, and it was brand new. But it would probably be too late now to get it, even if you did get a deal. It's worth a shot though.

Matryoshka
Götz (or Goetz) dolls are very, very nice. I personally like them better than Corolle. But they're not cheap either (a doll they sell that's much like a Bitty twin is about $50 - the AG twins are $100, so that's about the same). You may be able to find something on sale or ebay, though - another brand to search for.
JenniferB
I bought a Bitty Baby for my 3yo daughter last year, and I thought it wasn't much better than a *niceish* doll from Target. It still got colored on by the little one with a marker, and the clothing got marker on it, which bled onto the actual doll. So, I support you getting an alternative doll, though I don't have a brand to recommend. The high price for a BB isn't worth it, when it comes to getting damaged just like any other doll.
