momofkhm
I got up with dh and we went to swim. I lost track of laps again! :glare: I may have done as many as 30 or as few as 28. I realize that's only 2 laps. Then after we were done I asked dh how many times he lapped me (so I could subtract from his laps) and he didn't know! :001_huh: He was single minded in trying to beat his last mile time (which he did!) and didn't pay attention. Whatever it was, it was 32 minutes. I did stop twice to fix my goggles.
Colleen
Good job on the swimming, Cheryl. I so wish I could leave the house like that first thing in the morning. That'd help right now as far as getting in some form of exercise, but mornings are a no-go for me since Hans and the older boys are all out working. I continue to feel like a stiff, lazy old lady thanks to my lack of running of late. I did manage to get in a run yesterday (Tuesday). It's astonishing how much three days w/o a run sets me back. My legs were like cement blocks and my breathing was labored. I forced myself to get in 8 miles, though, since the chances to run right now are few and far between. I wish it would just dump snow. Then I could put on some yak trax and run in the snow. Instead, there's a thin veneer of ice here and there that makes for dangerous running. The ice I ran in the other day was nothing compared to what you are facing, I'm sure! Hang in there!
Jennifer in MI
Great swim Cheryl! I feel for you Colleen with the ice. Right now we have the same thing - 5 inches of snow with a thin layer of ice. It's only supposed to get worse as we get snow/rain later this week at 32 degrees. Needless to say, I didn't get out this morning. I do plan to do a video while the 2 yo naps though.

Sweetpeach
Hey Gals, Great job on the swimming, Cheryl. Sorry 'bout your icy roads, Colleen - out here on the East Coast, we've been having the warmest, most mild weather . . . until today when we got dumped on! Yesterday, I ran a morning 10K . . . and I think I could have ran further. It was one of those magical runs when running forever seemed neither impossible or crazy. In my mind, I was a light and lovely gazelle (lol) . . . My g-friend and I have been getting together regularly for Beachbody's 10 Minute Trainer videos . . . and, I've reached another goal . . . made it to the 180's. 189.2, said Mr. WiiFit a few mornings ago! It feels so great to finally **finally** find some success in the land of food and exercise! Keep plugging, WTM'ers! Tricia

I mean, ice is ice...isn't it? I made the mistake once of running in icy conditions and ended up with a bruised tailbone.:glare: Still, when I posted earlier, I was actually thinking I might try and get out there. That's definitely not a possibility now that there's a blizzard out there.

That's definitely not a possibility now that there's a blizzard out there. Left over puddles from the rain 2 days prior had frozen. There was plenty of room to get around them. It was only 1/2" thick if that and I tended to go around it on the grass anyway. So there was ice but not really.

Scarlett
Go ladies go! :tongue_smilie: I haven't left the house since Saturday. Going a bit nuts...will get out tomorrow or Friday for sure...maybe I can walk on Monday? Anyway, Cheryl I would love to be able to swim! I could in fact if I would just get up and get my behind to the gym since my niece is living with us and could stay with ds8. What time do you leave the house? How far is the drive? Colleen...bummer about the ice. I know what you mean about feeling old and lazy....right there with you.

This morning we left about 5 am. The pool is about 15 minutes away. Fridays we leave later cause dh doesn't have Bible study on Friday. Sweetpeach
Just finished the Beach Body video. Wow - what a good workout!! Then, I did the abs workout. Which Beach Body video are you using? I purchased Turbo Jam a few months back and I'm not super-keen on it. Too dancy for this "brought-up-Baptist" girl. I can't seem to follow the dance moves. sigh. My g-friend has 10 Minute Trainer which I love . . . I'd love to know more about which specific video you have! T

It just has the different exercises in 10 minute increments - right? I want to add this to my workout after a run (or on the days I don't run). Ack!! I just found out we're expecting another major winter storm tomorrow night. Lots of snow and ice. I just wasn't meant to run much this winter. chai
Lots of ice here too. I did 50 minutes of Pilates yesterday. I did it because it is the "easiest" of my DVDs, but it is very deceptive, because those moves really make you work. If you are interested in DVDs with 10 minute segments, I have two: 10 Minute Solution: Rapid Results Pilates with Lara Hudson Women’s Health: Total Workout in Ten with Amy Dixon I'm also doing this one: Strong Body, Ageless Body with Erin O’Brien All of these DVDs have gotten good reviews and I'm happy with them. I haven't done them for very long, though, so I can't claim any results other than being sore afterward.
