Anyone have extra motivation to pass on to me?

Recommended Posts

Usually, I'm up at this time, unable to sleep. Tonight, I'm up because I want to be sure to take advantage of an Amazon lightning deal at midnight. Of course, I don't feel like being on the computer. I don't feel like reading. I don't feel like doing laundry. I don't feel like putting away toys. I don't feel like cataloging my books. I just want to go to bed. Figures, huh?

So, does anyone have extra motivation to pass on? Words of wisdom to encourage me to hop to it and get something accomplished over the next two hours?

Are you talking about their Wednesday Gold Box deal that they put up at midnight PST?

What is it going to be?

I'm not showing any lightning deals going online at midnight, so if you know about something else, cough it up! :D

Unless this is a super great deal that will sell out in the middle of the night, I'd just go to bed, if I were you. Being me though, I'd wait up and go here: http://www.us.mensa.org/AM/Template.cfm?Section=Games and do one of the games until the golden hour struck.

Or I'd go here and read the forums I like: http://ths.gardenweb.com/forums/ .

I'd waste time that I should be sleeping during, and I would regret it big time in the morning.

Unless that deal is so great no one in her right mind would pass it up, go to sleep!

It's a light box. Philips Health GoLight M2, usually $171.92 at Amazon, tomorrow only $139.95. Limited quantities. I sure hope it's worth staying up for!

ETA: Wait a second. It goes up at Pacific Standard time? That would be 4 hours, not two. Rats. Maybe I should go to bed and just get up extra early. Hmmm.... I'll have to look at this some more.

Yes, PST. That's why when I wait up for Gold Boxes, it is always a mistake, since I have to get up around 6:30 a.m. every day to get 2 of the kids off to school.

Save $30, is that worth 4 hours of missing sleep? Could you set the alarm (or sleep on the couch and set the alarm if it would wake your DH up)?

Midnight PST is 3 AM eastern, 2 AM central, 1 AM mountain, I think.

Now, looking at the Amazon explanation, it seems that just because it's "tomorrow" doesn't mean the item is available at midnight. It may be some other time tomorrow. Double rats. Maybe I'll sleep on the couch until 2 a.m. and then see what time it's listed for, if any, and then go back to sleep if I can't buy it right away. Dh will wake me at 6:00. Do you know if they ever have items at the lightning price in the middle of the night? I've never seen this type of promotion before.

Lightning Deals start at 6 a.m. PST. They put on the entire days' line-up, with the 6 a. m. deal showing at that time, and the times for the subsequent deals, along with a hint about what they are. Sometimes they add deals at the end of their daily run, but I haven't seen middle-of-the-night (PST) lightning deals -- usually the last one is at 9 p.m. PST.

Gold Box Deals are put online at 12 midnight PST.

How did you find out about this particular deal?
