fshinkevich
I would like to purchase this on audio CD, is there a particular version you would recommend? Thank You :)

Veritaserum
I truly LOVE the version done by Patrick Stewart. That sounds wonderful! I just finished reading it aloud. I'm sure we'd all have enjoyed listening to Patrick Stewart more, lol. We're going to see the musical tomorrow. :)
fshinkevich
I truly LOVE the version done by Patrick Stewart. Oh thank you so much. I knew he did this, but not as audio book, I will have to find that!

I have been considering taking my kids to the Dickens Fair, but having never been myself I was not sure if they would enjoy it or not. How could they not? lol, if nothing else Santa will be there :)
Amy loves Bud
Agree! It's very good!
Brenda in FL
The Focus on the Family Radio Theatre version was very good. Although not a true unabridged reading of the book. My kids were 4, 6, and 8 when we listened to it - they enjoyed it.
abbeyej
I have the Focus on the Family one and didn't care for it. Too many changes, too much abridgment. It was tolerable (not as good as their Narnia recordings, but better than their truly awful Secret Garden), but I wish I had the Patrick Stewart one instead! OhM
I've never heard the Patrick Stewart version - sound good. I've heard Jonathan Winters' version on NPR and it's very enjoyable.

fshinkevich
Oh thanks so much! On Amazon it was listed as discontinued so I didn't even think to check other stores. I checked barnesandnoble.com and they have it for 12 bucks!

Kathy in MD
Amazon now has the Patrick Stuart version available for under $11. Apparently it's been reissued. http://www.amazon.com/Christmas-Carol-Reissue-Charles-Dickens/dp/0743563794/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1229289172&sr=8-
