Anyone want to adopt this ADORABLE slightly high maintenance border collie/pit mix?

This is a long shot for sure…So one of my dds agreed to temporarily foster a dog for a young couple going through a divorce. I am close friends with the young man’s parents. We are known as the dog rescue family because my girls have made it part of their life’s work. So we get these requests, and my girls take on more than they should. She’s had this dog since Christmas.

Anyway, neither owner wants the dog back, and my dd is good with that because the dog wasn’t well cared for.

Just putting this out there if you are up north where it’s harder to adopt. We are willing to transport/road trip.

This precious girl was spayed too young and is slightly incontinent because of it. She needs a fenced backyard and a doggie door for access when she needs to “go”. She’s an amazing frisbee dog. She’s so, so sweet and really a beautiful dog. She’s definitely border collie mixed with pit. But she’s the best of both breeds without the crazy that border collies can be. She’d be a fabulous farm dog. Or just a family dog—she just needs a good fenced backyard. Dd is in Atlanta. Shoot me a message if you might be interested. I can send pics and videos. She’s spent a lot of time at my house, so I can vouch for her. ❤️

What a sweet dog she sounds like! I am full up, but she sounds awesome. Also, I had a dog with that spay incontinence, and it went away as she got older. Hope it does for this doggie as well!

:sigh: I wish. We're full. She sounds amazing, though.  I'm under strict orders not to add any animals until after some have lived their lives with us and cross the rainbow bridge. :waah:

I hope someone amazing takes her!

Try posting her info in the border collie and border collie mix groups on Facebook. I’ve seen a lot of dogs find homes that way. People in the groups are already familiar with the breed and tend to be more responsible dog owners than your average person.

Are there any border collie rescue groups in your state? This might be an avenue to advertise the dog. Some of these breed-specific orgs get people from all parts of the US and Canada to re-home dogs.

I think we need pictures!

Pics aside, I also would contact a border collie rescue group. They often have foster families where pups can stay until the perfect forever home is found, and they have great resources for reaching the right people.

Oh—that’s good to know!!

She actually has lots of contacts in rescue, so I’m not sure why she hasn’t been able to get this dog on transport yet. My other dd’s rescue is in the process of transitioning away from pulling/ rescuing dogs to awareness/education because that dd will be interning next year.

I’m going to ask what’s up with the border collie rescues. It is possible that my daughter is being extraordinarily picky in who takes her. 😕

I will find some pics though!

As you can see, my daughter is very serious about this placement lol. Fwiw, she has had no problems at all with my dogs. They are smaller, though.

She did have a transport worked out with a reputable rescue, but they canceled on her. Likely due to fuel prices.

Aww, what a sweetie. It always takes longer to find homes for the ones who can't be with cats and are picky about other dogs. I hope the perfect situation turns up soon!

Oh my goodness, she is GORGEOUS. What a face. Hope she finds a wonderful family to dote on her. ❤️ (And what a blessing for her to be in your daughter's care.)

She is precious.  Just the same size and wild child temperament as my little pointer mix.  I don’t know what we would do without ours and I hope your dd finds a good home for her.
