Sign-up Genius: is there something better??

I have used it several times but it has never gotten easier. I just want people to sign up to bring desserts to a fund-raiser, and to indicate if they can stay to help. Is that so hard? Apparently it is.

I personally haven't found anything better.  I actually like it because of it's flexibility.  I've used it for really complex events with food, silent auctions, multiple shifts of volunteers, etc.  I'd set semething like this with volunteers and desserts seperated, request the dessert being brought in the dessert column so people can see what else is coming.  Should be pretty straightforward.
