If you live near the storms/tornadoes please check in and let us know you're okay. I also hope if anyone had loved ones in those areas, they're okay as well.

Bil (dh's oldest brother), sil, their adult kids and grandkids live in Cedar Park and Leander, TX. They were far enough away from Round Rock to not be affected but close enough to know how fortunate they are to have been missed by the storm.

I'm fine.

The Wal-mart that is being shown on national news is one of our local grocery stores (I was there Sunday night managing to NOT find half the stuff on my shopping list 😞 ) And we took cover as soon as we heard about a tornado at the 35 & 45 intersection. But the tornado tracked north east instead of south east so we were safe.  Now we just have to figure out how to navigate the area -- what roads are open and which ones should be avoided for the moment.

ETA: Monday night is our AHG meeting and we meet near that area. We usually start at 6.  The tornado was spotted moments before that.  Thankfully we had made the decision to cancel that morning (I did not want to be worrying all day whether or not we should hold it). But while sheltering in our restroom I could not help but think about where we might have sheltered in the church and having a dozen - 15 little ones and a bunch of parents to entertain while we waited to see which way that tornado was going.

DH and I spent an hour last night in our hallway with the local weather blaring from the TV in the next room and tornado sirens going off outside--ready with blankets and pillows to cover at a moments notice--luckily we did not have to.  We did, however, start having water drip on us through the ceiling.  We have not had a chance to find the source yet,  We have only seen a small amount in the hallway ceiling and have looked in the attic yet.  We think the most likely cause is heavy winds blowing rain water through a vent rather than significant roof damage.

We are fine.   DD and I were on a playdate so I was fine except that I wished we were home.    I didn't think we were in any danger.   We are east of the NE tip of the metroplex.    My friend was freaking out a bit.   Our home due to the topography nearby is practically immune from tornados.

We are fine as well. There was a supercell that formed in my area in Dallas county but luckily did not do much in terms of damage. We had a lot of thunder and rain.

We were fairly south of the worst of it; we did have a small tornado touch down about 15 miles or so from us, but I only found out after the fact. Here at our house we just had rain and some wind.

My sister/her kids who all live in areas that got hit heavier are all also fine; I checked in on them this morning. And  my good friend who lives in the thick of it also came through with no major damage.

I have not yet checked on my aunt/uncle....I should do that. I haven't heard anything to suggest they fared badly, though, and their town hasn't been on the news or anything, so I suspect they are okay also.

Fine here. There was a tornado that touched down a bit southeast of us, where some of the inlaws live. Every one seems fine.

There was quite a lot of hail, but somehow the cars escaped damage. Woo hoo!

My daughter was at a church youth retreat at Lake Texoma Friday through Sunday.  I don’t know enough about the area to know how close the camp is to the damage.

My parents know someone whose boat is kept at a marina that is shown as damaged (destroyed) on tv, but haven’t been able to talk to them yet to hear anything.  That couple also has a lake house near Texoma.

Edit:  we are nowhere near the tornados, but people from here do go to Lake Texoma.

I live in Round Rock, just five miles or so from where the tornado first touched down; it traveled northeast, and passed about a mile from my house. 😮 But tornadoes are not like hurricanes: they only damage what's right in their path. We lost power for about three hours and that's it. So, yes, I'm safe.

I hope the people who lost so much were not also survivors from last year's Snowmageddon. We've had crazy weather here.

We are good here. I'm in Pflugerville so the closest tornado was still 10 miles away.

I'm in Pflugerville too. But right on the border so the tornado was much closer -- 3 miles.

I had a appointment for my car this morning on the other side from the tornado damaged areas so I went out last night to make sure I had a clear path to get there and discovered Gattis SChool road is totally blocked off -- good thing I checked!

My parents heard from their friends, and their boat is fine and their house is fine.  Another friend also has a boat there, and it is also fine!

They said the marina is really large, and part of it is really bad and part is fine.  And then for the house, they are a block away from bad damage, but it missed them.

And now I found out today at church, that the camp my daughter was at was damaged.

We are lucky it happened after Spring Break!

Hello neighbor! I am on the opposite side of Pflugerville, the part that is Travis county instead of Williamson. I was visiting a friend yesterday who lives near Kalahari and saw several trees and a sign knocked over.

Hi neighbor, I don't think we have talked about it. I don't homeschool anymore since my son is 28, but starting to do some homeschooling type activities with my 4 year old granddaughter.

I started hsing 40 years ago, so I'm not homeschooling, either. 🙂 But I am absolutely always going to be a homeschooler. 🙂 We should do lunch some time.

They are rebuilding the Bank of America -- but of course it is not open yet. But there are still at least three businesses in this complex that have not reopened since this tornado -- the Twin Peaks restaurant next to McDonald's (Which I had not realized this "side" of the complex was even affected!, the Petsmart we used the most often (I hear they had a LOT of flooding inside even though on the outside it appears to just have affected their sign), and the Ross - -again a shop I use a lot for packing backpacks for Honduras. I really seem to find more things there than Marshalls usually.  At least on the maps Ross says "Temporarily closed" so I guess they are still planning on eventually opening.
