John J. Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 Good Day All, I am setting up my child who is in 7th grade for homeschooling. He was taking Italian 1 in school up to a week ago. So to match the school district requirements I need to find an online home schooling Italian 1 course that shows progress levels and if possible testing results. I only need this 1 class to complete his home school Syllabus. Can someone please recommend an online course that meets these points. Thank you!! Quote
freesia Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 Most homeschool online classes are in progress and would be difficult to join at this point. Are you sure for a seventh grader you need to show a foreign language for homeschool? Why do you need to match the district requirements? Usually the state homeschool requirements are different. Here is a link to a class, taught by a teacher, that you might be able to join: https://www.clrconline.com/high-school-italian-i-2/ This might be another option as the classes are chunked in smaller bits: https://outschool.com/search?q=italian#abl0tx515j My seventh grader watches German videos, works through Duolingo and about once a week reads from the Easy German Reader. She is making good progress and enjoys it. You could also go that route, particularly if you know Italian and can work with them. Why do you want progress level and test results? Is you goal for your child to return to public/private school and be able to do Italian 2? Knowing your goal will help us help you chose resources to meet it. 1 Quote
CAtoVA Posted March 20, 2022 Posted March 20, 2022 (edited) Edited to add: this would be for next year so not sure if the information will work for you or not.......Classes right now are full except for maybe Outschool. My rising 9th grade DD wants to take Italian 1 next year for her high school language. Who knew it would be so. difficult. to. find. an. online. Italian 1. class??? Seriously, like it's been very, very hard. I have found three online courses after an exhaustive search: The one at clcoonline (mentioned above); a class at Big River Academy; and a new class being offered this year at The Potter's School. The one at The Potter's School is being taught by an Italian national/Italian native speaker who will be meeting online from Italy. We did not want to do the"piece together" process with the "listen to tapes at your own pace," etc. That may work for many people, but it would not work for us. HTH!!
