Nakia
I bought my daughter an iPod nano for Christmas, I want to put some music on it for her. Where is the best place to get her music? I would like user friendly and, if possible, inexpensive options please. I know about iTunes, but I would like to look at other sites. TIA!!! whitestavern
If you google "free mp3" you will get a lot of selections. When my DC and I are studying different composers, I get songs in this way. I just listen from my computer, I've never downloaded them, but I'm pretty sure you can. If you know what you're looking for (artist wise) then you can just google that. HTH.
TraceyS/FL
MOst of the stuff at Amazon will work with iTunes/iPods. IT loads right into iTunes (i had to download a do-hickey first). I mainly just use iTunes though, it's easy!
momofkhm
But dh prefers Amazon. He told me but I don't remember. I think it has something to do with being able to copy it and put it on more items or some such. Actually most of what I have on my iPod and dd's iPod is music we already have on cd. Copy it into iTunes and then copy it onto the iPod.

Copy it into iTunes and then copy it onto the iPod. The majority/all of Amazons music is DRM Free. It will play on all players that support the MP3 format. CUrrently a few labels are DRM free at iTunes, Apple is negotiating to have it all removed - they have never wanted it, but the record companies demanded it. The rumor is that this could happen VERY SOON at iTunes though. Right now you can have iTunes songs authorized on 5 computers and unlimited iPods. The DRM free songs you buy at iTunes ("Plus" songs) can play on any device that supports the format they are in (Unprotected AAC - i haven't tried converting them to MP3, ok, just did that on a purchased song - works just fine to convert to MP3!). ANyway, it's coming to iTunes.
