I had never seen this before, but my SIL received a paint by number by Paintly of her father. At first she thought there was no way she could do it, but now she says it has been therapeutic for her.

Clearly not everyone would like this, but I thought I'd share because I never would have thought of this.

I'm glad she liked it.  I don't think I could do ever enjoy a gift like that but I would appreciate the thought.

I'm not artistic so it wouldn't work for me either.  😃

I'm not artistic either but I think seeing a picture of my father coming together like that would be upsetting for me.  It's a really interesting thought though and I'm wondering if my MIL would like something like that (she was widowed almost two years ago).

This seems like a nice idea for people that have lost beloved pets. I'm not sure how I'd feel about a picture of a person, but I have a picture of my cats that I would love to turn into a paint by number. Thanks for posting about this!

Ooh! I didn't think of one for a pet!

That was the first thing I thought of.  I was wondering if a friend would like one.

It could also be used if you moved, having a picture of your old house. Our real estate agent gifted us an ink drawing of our house after we sold it.

That's a wonderful idea!

I think it's an interesting idea and I'm so glad it ended up being therapeutic for your SIL, but it does seem like something people should buy for themselves.

It would be painful for me to do one of a pet or other family member and I can't be sure how I'd react to receiving one as a gift.
