This is the problem.  Well, one of them. The other he answered incorrectly anyway, so it wouldn't matter, although I think that one had the wrong answer also.

They said the answer to this was J.  My son said K.  
Oh My GOODNESS. I just noticed it says "equivalent to"  UGH UGH>

I  can't type it on my phone, but when multiplying like bases, you add the exponents. So 1/4 + 1/6 = 10/24

10/24 = 5/12

Which can also be written as 12th root of x^5.
