Kendall Posted February 10, 2022 Posted February 10, 2022 My SIL is looking for online precalc. I am looking to explore changing precalc texts we use-I can teach it.(Foerster) Any recommendations for either of us? Kendall Quote
ScoutTN Posted February 10, 2022 Posted February 10, 2022 (edited) My Dd is taking it online at Wilson Hill and it is going well. (I am not, not mathy and cannot evaluate a textbook at this level.) They use this text: Edited February 10, 2022 by ScoutTN 1 Quote
MamaSprout Posted February 10, 2022 Posted February 10, 2022 Derek Owens for online, either self-grading (half-priced) or graded. No live teacher. Blue Tent for a teacher. The book above has videos online: https://www.larsonprecalculus.com/precalc9e/ 1 Quote
Sebastian (a lady) Posted February 10, 2022 Posted February 10, 2022 One of my sons took Precalculus through Well-Trained Mind Academy, using the AoPS textbook. Quote
Kendall Posted February 10, 2022 Author Posted February 10, 2022 Do you think a student who has not done much AoPS (just prealg) would be okay in that? He has used Foerster texts for Alg 1 and 2. Quote
Kendall Posted February 10, 2022 Author Posted February 10, 2022 Thanks for mentioning the Larson text. It looks very promising for me. She will look into Blue tent/Derek Owens and WTM. Quote

I might have her take it later this year, but only after she has finished a regular precalc, to help her go deeper before calculus. Quote
Kendall Posted February 11, 2022 Author Posted February 11, 2022 Thank you, that helps so much. Quote
