.Howard Thomas Wilkinson Posted February 1, 2022 Posted February 1, 2022 I need a list of high school text books for a freshman who might be starting this new year; can you help me? Quote
RubyPenn Posted February 3, 2022 Posted February 3, 2022 (edited) For classical education, I assume? Do you want Christian or secular? https://www.memoriapress.com/curriculum/ninth/ https://cathyduffyreviews.com https://classicalacademicpress.com/collections/dialectic-rhetoric Edited February 3, 2022 by RubyPenn Quote
Roadrunner Posted February 3, 2022 Posted February 3, 2022 Look in the pinned threads per subject. All the information for classes and textbooks is there. 1 Quote
theelfqueen Posted February 3, 2022 Posted February 3, 2022 Gonna need a LOT more info. What is the child's educational background? What topics do you hope to cover (what level of math? What kind of history, science, foreign language, etc.) What sort of teaching approach (will the parent be teaching hands-on directly? are you looking for online classes? Do you see the student as a self-teaching independent learner?☆) Is the learner advanced (as evidenced by previous course work)? Does the learner have learning challenges? Are you seeking a college prep approach? Do you/teaching parent have a background in education/home education? What state are you in and what regulations influence curriculum selection? Are you looking for "textbooks" (as stated in the question) or complete curricula? ☆this is fairly rarely a successful approach for a kid who hasn't spent years building toward it 3 Quote
