Shoes+Ships+SealingWax Posted January 31, 2022 Posted January 31, 2022 We’re working on similes / metaphors & came across a project that DS8 is really enjoying! Collect a variety of paint chips in different colors & write a simile or metaphor for each shade. Name what the color reminds them of. Next, describe what they were reminded of with at least one adjective. Finally, think of a verb to apply to the subject. Each shade gives an opportunity for the same basic color to remind them of different things. Ex: Blue is icy frost covering winter grass like a blanket. Yellow is a juicy, ripe lemon ready to make lemonade. Green is summer grass swaying in the breeze. 7 Quote

I’ve been doing it with DS8, but it’s definitely a low floor / high ceiling type of task - equally accessible to any learner with a basic understanding of what similes & metaphors are, all the way up to adults. 1 Quote
