I woke up at 4:30 and couldn't go back to sleep. Now I'm tired, and I have class in 30 minutes. Maybe I just add a smidgen of caffeinated coffee to my decaf.

  • devotion/scripture
  • medicine
  • coffee
  • 5 Zoom sessions
  • meals (dh has to come home and eat dinner at 4:30 because of basketball)
  • didn't finish bullet journal for February, so I need to work on that
  • Sense and Sensibility (reading a couple of chapters at a time to do the same as student assignments)
  • look over lessons for tomorrow
  • look over coaching assignments for session tomorrow

Howdie, happy Monday!

I slept almost zero last night, because I procrastinated too much yesterday.  I have sent out maybe a fifth of the work I should have finished over the weekend.  I hope I have the stamina and focus I need for today.

Done:

  • Poorly managed my time all night.  I was following various rabbit trails about summer camps and who knows what else.  I took a short power nap in the middle.
  • I also accomplished one load of laundry overnight.
  • A little reading.
  • Kids up and off to school on time, yay!
  • Sent out 1 big project and 10 quick things.
  • Quick pup stuff, cleaning, and work discussion.
  • Caught up on emails, calendar, news, social media, and electronic school stuff.
  • Got set up to work downstairs.
  • Working on coffee 2.

To do:

  • Most of what I said I'd do yesterday, plus keep up with today's email streams etc.
  • Clean for the maids, who say they are coming this afternoon.
  • 2 or 3  loads of laundry.
  • Pup duty pretty much all day.
  • Yoga, water, fruits, vegetables.
  • Finish the book I've been reading.  I'm very close and I want to call it a January accomplishment.  😛
  • Whatever else gets done.

clean up as best as can be done. Direct kiddos we can get the room totally empty so they can build closets today and run the electric.

Grandkidsies this morning. Help DD study this afternoon. Take DD13 and DD12 to play practice. Home. Take DD15 to mock trial.

My mom and dad are coming over to build. Should go quickly.

UPS drop took longer than expected. They said it's an Amazon deadline for Christmas returns and they were slammed.

After that, we went to the Cuban cafe and I had my older boy practice Spanish by ordering drinks.

I realized the last of the turnips need to come up so we are going to pull them now and cook some roots and greens tonight.

I did read but want to get in a few more pages today.

@HomeAgain, good to see you! What kind of tutoring do you do? I tutor math, so I'm always interested in what others do.

@Brittany1116, what type of animals do you have?

@readinmom, enjoy dh being home!

I finished all of my classes. I made some food for dh to have when he rushed home to eat before leaving again.

It's nice out again today, so I went for a walk and got 2.3 miles in. I think I might be getting a blister near a big toe. Both days, I didn't wear the shoes I normally walk in.  It should be nice tomorrow, too, so I hope it will feel better and I can walk again.

I forgot to put doing my new bible study on my list. I started it yesterday, and I need to finish this week's work before Wednesday night. I am a little hesitant to go to an in-person class, but I really miss being in bible study. I will wear a mask, but I can almost guarantee no one else will have one on. I've seen very few during the services at church. The rows are a good distance from each other, and we try to always sit where at least no one is behind us. We go to the early service, too, which is less crowded.   Maybe I can distance from others in the back.  I'll assess the situation when I get there.

I tutor math twice a week and phonics 3-4 days a week, so about 6 kids total right now multiple days.  I've also got a few whose parents I work with and send out boxes of materials/instructions so they can get lessons that way because I just can't add more to my schedule other than a weekly/monthly visit.  I love it, though.  The phonics lessons are the most rewarding, I think, because it's watching kids soar once they get the initial steps in.  Some days are harder with the math, especially when it feels like a slog of a month because there's an underlying skill that's shaky still.

I hope your blister feels better!  When I take long walks I end up using ointment and a bandaid overnight to keep my toes from rubbing even the slightest outside my shoe.  It tends to help quite a bit, or maybe it's just the placebo effect of having a bandaid on a boo-boo. 😄

Physical this AM...have to do a couple of "regular" tests. I don't want to, let's be honest. I might call to make an appointment/see if this GI doc I found is taking new patients.

Work-another busy day, I was in 4th grade, SPED and 6th grade.

Picked up prescriptions on my way home.

Working on project management course modules.

Supper-leftovers

I finished a pile of reports for each of my two biggest clients, got the kids, and then worked on those 1099s.  I was slowed down a lot by technology issues, but on the positive side, I had gotten ahead on my work over the holidays, so that helped.  But it still took hours, plus an hour to drive to the post office.

This is one of my pet peeves.  According to the stupid rules, I have to do a 1099 and a 1096 for each annual fee transaction between the companies we own and run.  It's like having to send 2 forms to the IRS every time you move money from your left pocket to your right pocket.  For every one of those fees, I have to write out the same address 3 times.  There's no way to shortcut it.  So this evening I wrote our business address out 25 times just to inform myself of a payment to myself from myself.  If I failed to do it all in time for a January 31 postmark, I'd be subject to thousands of dollars in fines.  And I know I'm not the only person doing this.  What a waste of time and resources.

Anyhoo.  I still have a lot of work due today.  The maids are here, and I'm making everyone else handle the pup for a change.  So back to work.

Guys went to bball and Scouts.

All done tutoring.
Chx was meh.
Baked blueberry muffins
Kitchen is clean.
Troop Track (Email and achievement tracking for our scouting organization) is not working right - I’ve sent an email twice, once from my laptop and once from my phone. Neither went through. Argh!

Getting some hot mint tea and heading off to bed to read. As soon as I get nice and sleepy, Ds will come banging in. I love my boy, but he is very loud! 😉

@Brittany1116, the bible study is, God of Freedom, by Jen Wilkin. It's a study in Exodus, chapter 19 and beyond. I have friends with goats, and they love them!

I did a lot of my bible study.

I made a pita sandwich for myself (low carb pitas) with ham and lots of veggies because I'm trying to eat more of them. I have been cooking onions, green peppers, or spinach to have with eggs for breakfast.

I watched some more of Bloodline. I'm a few episodes in and still trying to decide if I want to stay with it. I think I might be more interested in a side story going on.

I looked over the lessons for tomorrow.

I didn't read more S&S because several of us misread the assignment schedule. It appeared we were to start it after the mid-January co-op, but it wasn't until after the one that just happened. We are very ahead, and I don't want my student to forget what we have done so far. He has some reading difficulties. I suspect he has learning issues that were never addressed.

I did some cleaning in the kitchen.

I'm not very sleepy, but I should be.
