Good morning!

I made dh's food last night and slept in ds' room so I wouldn't be disturbed by him getting up and ready. I slept until 7:30. It was so nice!

I was thinking about going up and seeing my dad this morning, and now we have some snow and wintry mix predicted. It probably won't be much, but he will not want me driving in any.

Dh has a home game this afternoon, so I might go to the JV game since it isn't crowded.

  • medicine
  • coffee
  • devotion/scripture
  • meals (just for myself today because dh will be fed at the game)
  • Sense and Sensibility
  • lesson plans for next week
  • some grading and emailing
  • walk in the house and do some resistance exercises
  • pay bills/update checking records
  • meal plan and grocery list
  • go to the game
  • find something new to watch

Good morning! My day is all changed up, so here's the list:
....coffee
....go teach the 5 yr old
....come home, clean up the house for the kids to have their 1 D&D friend here tomorrow
....sew things
....no school prep, b/c the printer is insisting I need the black cartridge now, and it won't get here until Saturday
....no afternoon tutoring, b/c student has Covid
....DH has his bday today, and asked this morning to go ahead and move his dinner to today instead of tomorrow b/c of scheduling issues
....so, tonight, cook DH's steak/make the salad, eat dinner, watch Boba Fett (his choice)
...remember to take the fencing clothes out of the wash/hang to dry before I teach the 5 yr old
....remember to wake Oldest up before I leave to teach the 5 yr old
....I think that's all.....?

Have a great day everyone!

@ScoutTN, yes, I am. It feels tediously long at times with the descriptions, but I do like the story. I actually prefer children's novels because they are short and to the point yet deep and emotional at times.

I could use some medical advice for dd. She hasn't been to a doctor in quite awhile, and she needs to go while she is on her current insurance. She may do contracting work and travel nursing later this year and not have insurance or have to get it on her own. I'm offering to help her find a doctor and make her an appointment.  If she will only start with one visit, what kind of doctor should she see, GP or GYN? She has an enlarged thyroid that hasn't been checked in probably 3 years. She has PCOS that she is currently doing nothing about. She is certain she has ADD and would consider medication for it. She needs to have a pap smear since she hasn't had one in about 3-4 years. I'm leaning toward GYN, and I realize any doctor may refer her to an endocrinologist. I wasn't sure about the ADD thing.

Mom31257, I have a large practice that I use, and I call their nurse line when I'm not sure exactly who I want to make an appointment with.  That said, I think I'd probably start with a GP if I had to make the decision myself.  But I'd look for a female GP in a practice that includes the other specialties, if possible.

Happy Friday!  It's cold, icy, and snowing here, yippee.  Only 3 more months of this fun.  My kids fell on the ice a total of 3 times in the past 18 hours.  As for me, I really can't afford another fall, so I'm trying to be careful ... but who knows what the future holds.  Other than that, it's beautiful outside.

Kids are back to school again.  We just barely made it on time after cleaning off the car / falling on the ice / generally being slow.

Did my yoga, ate fruit, did some cleaning, caught up on my calendar, emails, social media, news, and electronic school stuff.  Took the pup out, brought the mail and garbage cans up.  Working on my first coffee still.

Need to get motivated to get some work out!

She should see a gyn due to PCOS and psychiatrist due to ADHD (official term - she would be ADHD- inattentive).

Good afternoon! Sunny and cool here

Done

Made blueberry baked pancakes and bacon for breakfast.

Laundered bath mat

Had a meeting w woman from church

Mqde a sandwhich and had lunch

Riding the Access bus to my pool appointment.

To Do

Pool therapy

Library book sale

Make oven baked pork chops and something w apples

Put away laundry ( I did 4 or 5 loads yesterday) hopefully- at least some of it. Probably not aml since I don't want to overdo

Check what movies are playing and make plans to go see.  Dh and I both really enjoyed "House of Gucci" last week.  We watched "The Last Picture Show" last night and both really liked it..  Dh was really unsure he would and although it is a drama, not a comedy, he was laughing a lot right from the start - though there were plenty of saf moments too.

Have any if you seen the New Matrix movie?

We saw it (at home via streaming) -- it was disappointing to us. Not horrible, but we didn't find it great, either. This may be due to high expectations (which it did not live up to), or just the caliber of the movie itself, but we were underwhelmed.

Home from teaching the 5 yr old (and visited with her great-grandma/my friend while there; she goes back to her other home next week, will be back here in April).

Called a jewelry store nearby to see about an appraisal on a piece I have; it's likely worth fairly little, but I don't know anything about it and would like to know what the stone is, etc. (semi-sentimental piece, kind of)

Re: the land, the lot we were looking at is already sold/pending. The numbers were starting to worry DH anyway, so he has the realtor "keeping an eye out" but this is not something we'll be rushing into any time soon. We're okay with that.

Got Oldest up and out on time.

Need to check on all the boys, figure out dh bday gift, or not, and do that, then clean up before he gets home (hopefully).

Pool therapy didn't hurt at all unlike on land doing almost all the same exercises.  Lost the scissor holder somewhere.  I didn't see on the tile floor but it is sort of clear.  It  may be w my stuff.

Waiting for dh to pick me up and both of us going to early bird Library book sale.

@mom31257 Does your daughter have a preference to which specialty she would like to go to? My first thought would be gyn to have pap/px and have the blood work done then as well.

Did a mega clean in one of the bedrooms. Set up another book stand in the bedroom. Every surface dusted, cleaned, all clothes in order. Taking a water break before I tackle the next one. The speed Queen is getting a work out today.

ds has to design a fictional creature and he thought it would be fun if we sat down tonight and brainstormed and drew together- should be fun. First decision will be prey or predator.

Changed dinner to zucchini boats, to use up what I have. Saving fajitas for tomorrow when Dd will be home for dinner.

Called mom.

Figuring out a tentative schedule for tomorrow.

@mom31257 History-fan’s word about getting bloodwork done at the gyn is good advice. They can run tests so she has data for initial visits to other docs, when that happens.

Talked with the boys, and they came up with a killer coupon gift idea for DH that he will love, and we can produce in time for tonight's dinner.

Print cartridge arrived, DH installed it, but is napping, so will print his gift later and resume school prep maybe.

Need to eat some food and then do the chores for him while he sleeps. And figure out where to move the fencing gear so it will dry. Maybe outside, where it's sunny.

Flurries. Very cold. I am so tired of winter. Thankfully, I'm in for the night.
Made some progress on electronic chores. Will work for a few more minutes, then call it quits for today. Friday night is time to relax.

Next up:
one more thing on the computer
set the table for dinner - Dd's chore, but she is not here
wine!
dinner
read and unwind

@TravelingChris Any good finds at the library sale?

Had a terrible migraine most of the day. Trying to finish a homework assignment. This week I did some things for work where it's hit/miss if they want a specific kind of specificity in a change-- the first one just got kicked back, dang it. Now I might have to wait for the rest. 😞

Thanks for the thoughts on dd.

I found a medical group that has lots of specialties but not all at the same office. I don't think dd has a preference as to what kind of doctor. I did find a family practice doctor (really close to her apartment) that states she specializes in women's health and chronic conditions. I found an internal medicine doctor (really close to her hospital) that states she specializes in chronic disease management, depression/anxiety, and hormone management. I'll mention to her about seeing a GYN instead.

Did some of my work for school next week.

Watched a couple episodes of Bloodline on Netflix.

Went to see the 4H center here as a possible classroom location.

Went to the bank and the furniture store to check on our remaining dining chairs that haven't come. They still don't have an exact date. They are hoping for mid February.

Shopped at Dollar Tree. I haven't done that in a while. Everything is $1.25 now.

Went to dh's JV game and they played well and won. I made an inquiry about space for classes, and I was able to meet some people from a church here that has a school they are no longer using. They are going to check on me using it and get back to me.

Ran by the store on the way home to get stuff to make burgers this weekend.

@plaidpants, I'm so sorry about the migraine and the work issue. Why don't people just tell you what they want in the first place? It would make things much more efficient and less frustrating for everyone.

thanks, @mom31257and all. the nausea and aura went away but my head still hurts. I finished the assignment and updated the work things I could, so that's done. More may get kicked back, but who knows? Sometimes they go through because it takes 1 click to see who got added/removed from a list, which is all I did. It's an important list, but it doesn't change anything about how the project is run. Unfortunately the Powers that Be haven't thought about adding a separate queue for those kinds of requests. The processing has been really slow lately, too, partly because they've gotten really picky about other things (the "not required but actually required things"? UGH!)
