At least they don’t have to sit through a trial and spend years knowing he’s alive while their daughter isn’t. My college roomie and often tentmate, friend of DH, and auntie to my kids was killed in a murder-suicide in 2019. They lived a similar, traveling nomadic lifestyle. I am always selfishly relieved that he is gone, and we know what happened—it gives some closure. For him to deny what he had done, a trial … it would have been unbearable!
