plaidpants Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 Rain into snow for another hour or so here. Very slow to get started today. Thinking about stuff. 🤔 The usual: work projects, Spanish, sew, read. Need to make a list of outstanding and time-sensitive things for work for tomorrow, today is a slow day. Eating a bunch of rice cakes for whatever reason. 4 Quote
TravelingChris Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 Good morning! Back to gloomy and cold. Having a tough morning since I had a hard time getting out of bed (my AS stiffens my spine) , then dh got into a loud rant when the news had a piece about not going to the ER if you want a Covid test and that it is for true emergencies, I agreed with the rant - Covid nothings above heart attack patients, transplant surgeries being elective, Dr Fauci, etc but just didn't need it this morning. And then getting tge cereal down from the fridge led to bread crumbs all over the kitchen floor To do Finish breakfast (done) Finish taking meds (done) Betterhelp counseling (wasn't on,hope she isn't ill, ) Take shower to loosen up Feed birds Call Botanical Garden and renew memberships Vacuum w Shark mop and vacuum the kitchen floor Watch stuff and read stuff Prep salmon dinner Buy masks 3 Quote
TheReader Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 Will be done with K prep as soon as I finish convincing the printer that it's not out of yellow toner, nor does it need it in order to print in black & white. I really wish printers would go back to being dumb -- whatever method mine uses to estimate or decide when it's out of toner is so very flawed, and it always wants me to replace cartridges that don't need replacing. I had to run the Troubleshooter, twice, to get it to cooperate, and I'm going slowly in case I need to re-run it between documents. I will probably save 1st grade prep until tomorrow, when I have the new cartridges just in case. We'll see. 1 2 Quote
TheReader Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 Okay, so, every 2 documents (and, umm, I have a lot to print) it decides to stop working. So I run the troubleshooter again, which does or does not find a problem (out of toner, it thinks). And then it does, or not, print the next document. With long pauses between (one sat for so long I thought it wasn't going, so sent it again. Then it printed it twice. Sigh.) Moving the documents to a different file, and will resume printing tomorrow, but dang I hate being forced to spend $$ on a cartridge I don't actually need. 3 Quote
TheReader Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 DONE with K, after much printer frustration. Eating lunch, taking a nap, helping DS with geometry, and then will move on. I hate printers. 3 Quote
mom31257 Posted January 20, 2022 Author Posted January 20, 2022 I hate them, too, @TheReader. It's turning much colder here. Had my Zoom sessions. Had my coaching session. Put away dishes from the dishwasher I'm making a dairy filled dish for dh for dinner, and I'll be eating leftover chicken pot pie. I tried a new way to make it this week with a dairy free gravy that was pretty good. This way I can eat it, too. About to go get some laundry together. 3 Quote
ScoutTN Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 Secured a campground for our troop’s spring campout! Woohoo! Hanging out in my car while Dd is in dance. It’s cold, so running the heat off and on. Gotta get off of my phone bc low battery, and no charger with me. 2 Quote
TheReader Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 Did school with DS -- math and history, will boot language arts to tomorrow Had a long nap, ate lunch Folded waiting laundry, put away my half, starting a new load now Fencing will be fencing practice only, and the "six feet apart-y" will be Zoom/online due to potential yucky weather, so will have time after fencing tonight to do stuff as a family, maybe Dinner will be a veggie gnocchi thing 2 Quote
history-fan Posted January 21, 2022 Posted January 21, 2022 I thought I had the kitchen ceiling light figured out with the new lightbulbs but may need to get a new fixture. So spent part of the day trying to figure this out. Looked online for flush and semi flush ceiling fixtures. Also looked for light fixtures for basement to replace the ones down there. found the 2 smart plugs that I was looking for in November for the Christmas tree. Where do I put them so I can find them easy next year washed bathroom rug washed towels Wrote up a form for dh for his Dr apt packed up a monitor to send back. Baked cranberry white chocolate bars. I stocked up on chips in Nov when they were on sale and noticed that the exp date says 2/22, I think the boys in this house will be happy to help use them up. 1 Quote
mom31257 Posted January 21, 2022 Author Posted January 21, 2022 Called my dad and he doesn't want me to come up tomorrow. The temperatures up there aren't even going to be to freezing by early afternoon, and he seems to think we should both stay in and stay warm. I reminded him teasingly that I'm much younger, but he said we'll do it soon on a warmer day. I'm trying to figure out if he would have said that before being on this new Parkinson's medicine or not. I'm going to ask my sisters' opinions. Dh came home and we chatted before I needed to start dinner, so I never got laundry together. I guess I have plenty of time for it now tomorrow. Made dinner Dh and I did our Exodus bible study together, and then we watched a Madam Secretary. We are finally to season 6. I walked in the house and did some resistance stuff with weights while I walked. 1 Quote
