If you or any of your vaccinated family members had what you believe to be a “lite” case of covid, what symptoms did you/they experience?

A relative had a 24-hour bug (not GI), feels totally over it today (day 3?) and can’t find an available test for a week, which seems useless.

She is going to act as though it was covid, following CDC guidelines etc, so at this point we are basically just curious. For cases that don’t involve urgent care level side effects, I know there’s asymptomatic on one end of the spectrum and down with flulike symptoms for a week on the other. Haven’t paid attention to the middle range of symptoms, if that makes sense.

I have tested negative but household members are positive. I had covid in Nov 2020.  Two doses of Pfizer in August.

I had a few days of GI stuff that I attributed to junk food over the holidays. I also had some body aches but as I have long covid and autoimmune issues I attributed that to doing too much over the holidays. I had no respiratory symptoms.  Either I didn't have it or I cleared it quickly as PCR was negative.

Two teens in my house. No previous infection (tested when I had it in 2020 and I isolated). Vaccinated at the same time as me.  One had a headache and nasal congestion and a few days later felt short of breath a few times and maybe some achiness.  One had nasal congestion only for 1-2 days.  Both also tested negative but we are suspicious that it was too late.

So not exactly what you were looking for but because of the number of positives around us we do think we had super mild breakthrough cases.

Dh had J&J in May and we all had Covid at the end of August (so this was likely Delta).  He felt bad for about a day, but no fever and he still got in a few hours of work (from home of course).  During that time dd19 and I were bad sick for several days (both unvaxxed).  Dh has some history of lung problems, so he was more likely to be really sick, so the vax definitely helped him.

Omicron: fatigue, elevated temp, achiness, congestion. Symptoms started Wednesday, much better today.
eta: one case is very very light all of the above except temp, one had some chest pressure but no breathing problems.

Delta: really high temperature for 5 days, extreme fatigue, headache, very light intermittent cough at the very end.

I wondered about myself just recently. I had no ready access to a test so I didn't find out. I felt a little dizzy/woozy last weekend. I also had a headache for 48 hours, but this is also not outside of the norm for me. I had a bit of a phlem-y throat, but due to allergies, this is also not super-unusual. So I don't know.

My vaxxed, 14 year old ds has been sick for a week now with congestion, coughing, and headache. His symptoms started on Tuesday and are just now letting up. He tested positive on Thursday. Dh and I started feeling sick- coughing, sore throat, fever, chills, etc. on Friday. We’re all vaxxed. I’m really glad because of this is the mild version, the severe version would be really horrible. The two youngest have not had any symptoms and I wonder if it’s because it hasn’t been as long since they got vaxxed. Anyway, I know there are cases that aren’t so bad, but we’ve really been miserable.

It’s mystifying, isn’t it?

Based on a couple of things said above, it was possibly omicron but I’m guessing not delta. Makes sense for what is going around the community.

Others in the house are unaffected. Yay, vaccines!

Not confirmed Covid, but probable: my mom and her nursing home roomie recently had a day of congestion and sore throat, followed by a day of coughing, some vomiting. Roomie is still pretty sleepy, and sleeping more than normal.

Nursing home has an outbreak among staff, so we expect that this was likely Covid, but don’t know for sure. NH doesn’t ever do PCR tests. RATs we’re not done while they were symptomatic.

I’m sorry to hear that! Hope you feel better soon.

My x-h wasn't vaccinated, but he had Covid in May. His symptoms were very light allergy symptoms. A bit of congestion, runny nose and a very occasional cough. Nothing big enough to warrant taking medication for. He was away from home caring for his mom and step-dad who had covid (he was there when they got diagnosed and was trapped due to quarantine rules). When I would ask how he felt, he told me that he was completely fine, but his allergies were flared up a bit. I kept reminding him that he needed to get tested, because he doesn't have seasonal allergies!!  HAHA He tested positive a little less than a week from exposure.

He currently has Covid again. He never got vaccinated was just counting on his previous infection to protect him. He has no risk factors so he wasn't concerned. This time is much worse, but still just feels like a bad cold. Definitely taking meds, but his symptoms do not need medical care.

Just this week my DS tested positive. He had a headache and soar throat and congestion pretty much like a bad cold. He took some OTC medicine for a couple of days. He also had one day of minor stomach upset. It has been 5 days since he started having symptoms and says he feels fine now.

We have reason to believe we had Omicron this week, but no one tested so it isn't certain. Several friends of my daughter tested positive after she spent the weekend with them. She developed symptoms the following day. I developed symptoms a day later. We weren't around other people - Dh and Ds17 were both using vacation days - so I don't know what else we would have picked up. Very minor symptoms. Dd18 and I had sore throats and headache. She was very tired. My feet swelled a little. But, overall, we didn't feel very sick. Everything was minor. Ds 17 coughed once but didn't complain of any particular symptoms? Dd11 had a mild sore throat. Dd7 threw up a few times one day. Dh and Ds15 didn't show any symptoms. So we think the girls had it, but maybe not the guys. Or they may have been asymptomatic.

Again, it may not be covid, but timing is right and our symptoms matched those who tested positive.
