Amethyst Posted January 6, 2022 Posted January 6, 2022 (edited) Some of you here are so good at shopping. Can you please help me? I've been online looking for too long and not having any luck. I'm looking for a casual shoe for every day wear, like going to the grocery store. I'm tired of wearing my athletic looking running shoes. This would be to go with jeans which is about the only thing I wear when I’m not working. I'd like something that has a LITTLE more style. But not stylish or glamorous or glitzy - remember grocery store. I was looking at sneakers that had weave type material rather than leather. Maybe instead of my usual white, a light gray or something else. I considered these Keds, but I know they don't have much arch support at all, and reviews seem to indicate they will fall apart fast. I like the look of these Steve Madden, but these are Men's and I'm not really sure if these will also have a problem with no arch support. I'm pretty sure I want lace up and not slip-on. Any ideas? Bambam Posted January 6, 2022 Posted January 6, 2022 You don't give a price range, so here are some I think are nice looking with at least moderate arch support. Some of these are not lace up though. I'm not sure about style though. I'm more of a comfort and excellent arch support shoe fan. https://www.zappos.com/p/arcopedico-sheba-antracite/product/9447442/color/27079https://www.zappos.com/p/traq-by-alegria-peaq-navy/product/9490442/color/9https://www.zappos.com/p/therafit-nina-black/product/9613096/color/3 1 Quote
Ottakee Posted January 6, 2022 Posted January 6, 2022 (edited) I have terrible feet and need good support. I can walk in Dansko Paisley https://www.amazon.com/dp/B083XVS4GK/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_BGAYKWC8WGZZ64SC5478?psc=1 They are not cheap though. Edited January 6, 2022 by Ottakee 1 Quote
elegantlion Posted January 6, 2022 Posted January 6, 2022 Ecco Soft 7s get good reviews. https://www.amazon.com/Womens-Fashion-Sneaker-White-8-8-5/dp/B00RC7RQPG/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=ecco%2Bsoft%2B7%2Bwomen&qid=1641500053&sprefix=ecco%2Bsoft%2Caps%2C98&sr=8-2&th=1&psc=1 A slightly cheaper Ecco shoe is the Gillian. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0727NYNXV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I had a pair of the Gillians, but the seam sat right on top of my big toe - where I had minor arthritis, so they didn't work as well. I have tried to Soft 7s yet. Another brand to look at is Vionic. https://www.amazon.com/Vionic-Supportive-Sneakers-Three-Zone-Orthotic/dp/B0923C32ML/ref=sr_1_25?keywords=vionic%2Bwomens%2Bshoes&qid=1641500314&sprefix=vionic%2B%2Caps%2C109&sr=8-25&th=1&psc=1 1 Quote
QueenCat Posted January 6, 2022 Posted January 6, 2022 I love almost anything Clark's makes. They have a variety of styles and are comfortable, My poor dh knows that if I go in a Clarks store, I come out with two pairs. They often have buy one, get one for $20 or second one is half off type sales. I have a lot of shoes... 1 Quote
Faith-manor Posted January 6, 2022 Posted January 6, 2022 (edited) Propet makes some kids price walking shoes that aren't sneakers. I have some ankle boots made for walking and they look good with my jeans. I also have some of their more summer looking walkers, and usually keep a pair of slip on grasshoppers for quick trips without a lot of walking. Edited January 6, 2022 by Faith-manor 1 Quote
mmasc Posted January 6, 2022 Posted January 6, 2022 I know you said lace up, but I have these in a different color and really like them. I do wish I would’ve gotten this grey-ish color instead of the color I bought though. 1 Quote
Amethyst Posted January 6, 2022 Author Posted January 6, 2022 Thank you! These are some nice options. I like the look of the Arcopedico and the Ecco Soft 7. Now I have to go look to see what they have in my size and color I like Quote
