LuvToRead Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 Maybe??? I usually do but not sure about this year. Quote
happi duck Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 I might try these for new years, thanks for posting! Quote
sassenach Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 I am, but not this week. These are a New Year's tradition in our house. Quote
teachermom2834 Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 Absolutely! I'm always looking to change things up but these are non-negotiable. In fact, I am famous for Quiver's rolls. I mix dough in the bread machine on Christmas Eve and roll out and leave in the fridge overnight. Always perfection! 1 Quote
catz Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 I use a slightly different recipe but I will make some over the weekend sometime. 🙂 Quote
Anne Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 What ever happened to Quiver? Anyone know how she is? Anne Quote
Carol in Cal. Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 It was so fun to watch the Quiver numbers change over the years. 2 Quote
mmasc Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 I’ve never made them, but have read about them every year and I think I even asked a question about them last year on a thread. But I voted yes, because I think this year I will try them. When it says “knead into a ball”, can that be done in the stand mixer? And how?😬 1 Quote
saraha Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 We had them for thanksgiving and are having them for Christmas Eve! I think we have had them for every major holiday since she posted the recipe, like what 10 years ago? 1 Quote

MercyA Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 I'm buying cinnamon rolls from a local Amish store. 🙂 3 Quote
LifeLovePassion Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 Maybe...I'm deciding between them, some rolls DH's Gramma makes using frozen bread dough or monkey bread ( although I had never heard this term until a few years ago, my mom always made it on Christmas) Quote
73349 Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 I'm buying our cinnamon rolls from a gf bakery. We have enough things to make the next couple of days--pumpkin pie, pumpkin bars, gingerbread cookies, ice cream... 1 Quote
Moonhawk Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 Christmas, they are the tradition where I put them in the oven, we unwrap gifts, and then by the time that's over, I can have cinnamon roll with coffee or tea on the couch watching everyone be happy, but past the crazy ripping and excited jumping stage so that the coffee doesn't spill. Confession: I make 2 batches but the kids only know about one...... 2 6 Quote
QueenCat Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 Dh is making Ree Drummond's (Pioneer Woman) cinnamon rolls. He's made them before and they are delish!!! 3 Quote
Chris in VA Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 Going to try but I have to whizz up my own powdered sugar in the blender bc I can't find it here. Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays, everyone. 1 Quote

I pulled out my collection of recipes to make muffins and I passed this recipe in my binder and thought, I have to make these again this year. 3 1 Quote
Ausmumof3 Posted December 24, 2021 Posted December 24, 2021 Sadly it’s not cinnamon roll weather here. wish you all would post about this in July to remind me to try it! 3 1 Quote
LifeLovePassion Posted December 24, 2021 Posted December 24, 2021 I'd like to change my answer. I just made a batch this morning. They are on their 2nd rise now. Leftovers tomorrow, easy peasy! @Ausmumof3but think of how fast the dough would rise this time of year for you! Quote
lmrich Posted December 24, 2021 Posted December 24, 2021 sadly not in the cards this year. The dr. told me to not even bake with gluten flour... Quote

I want to offer hope for future years…Try this recipe with the Namaste GF flour blend. Our Costco has it, but so does Amazon (where it costs a bit more). 1 Quote

Ali in OR Posted December 24, 2021 Posted December 24, 2021 I was going to do my usual KitchenAid mixer recipe, but this one looks easier to cut in half so I think I will try it. By the way, my print-out of the recipe is dated 2006, so it was posted at least 15 years ago! I'll try forming the rolls and then putting them in the fridge overnight. Can anyone add more detail to that? Do they really rise fully in the fridge overnight, or should I expect to get them out early in the morning and let them rise for an hour or two? 1 Quote

I usually start preheating my oven in the morning and let them sit on the stove close to where the hot air comes out. About half hour in that position and if they weren't fully risen straight out of the fridge, this seems to do the trick. 1 Quote
GoVanGogh Posted December 25, 2021 Posted December 25, 2021 I make my late grandma’s cinnamon rolls every Christmas. The recipe is identical to quiver’s, but I call them my grandma’s as she always made them. 2 Quote
readinmom Posted December 25, 2021 Posted December 25, 2021 I'm trying these for New Year's. It is so hard baking things, not being able to eat them (diabetes). But, my love of baking always wins out. 😊 1 Quote
East Coast Sue Posted December 25, 2021 Posted December 25, 2021 (edited) I love Quiver’s cinnamon rolls. Here are mine before baking! Edited December 25, 2021 by East Coast Sue 4 Quote
ScoutTN Posted December 25, 2021 Posted December 25, 2021 I had planned to, but ran out of time. Subbed cheese danish from Publix this year. I needed laid-back, easy food this year. It’s ok. The cinnamon rolls will happen another year. Quote
Lady Marmalade Posted December 25, 2021 Posted December 25, 2021 They've been out the oven for about 15 minutes and are cooling. I gave them one swipe of cream cheese frosting, which I like to let melt into the still warm rolls, and then I will give them another layer of frosting right before we eat them. So good. I have found that they don't really double in size, but still rise just fine in the pan while baking. So I give them about 30 minutes with the first rise, 20 with the rise in the pan and then bake. Baking at 350 for 20-25 minutes also works better for me than 400. So good. My son told me the other day that these cinnamon rolls might well be what he would call "His Favorite Food". 1 Quote
TexasProud Posted December 25, 2021 Posted December 25, 2021 (edited) Everyone puts on their icing after. The ones a little overdone are left. The perfect pans were devoured last night. Edited December 25, 2021 by TexasProud 1 Quote
