Tofu best by September 30?

Missed a container of tofu in the fridge that says "best by September 30".

I'm planning the sniff test.  If it passes it'll be baked.

Would you sniff test or just toss it?  What sayeth the Hive?

No way would I open that, let alone eat it. Off tofu is seriously nasty.

Nope.  I would those it immediately. The chances of it making you sick right now are not worth it.

I'm generally pretty comfortable with lots of stuff past the best-buy date.  I mean, they're saying "best," right?  I'm OK with OK, is my general attitude.

But not *that* past, and definitely not with tofu.

Nope, I would not even open that — that is way too expired for tofu.

You might regret the sniff test. The worst fridge archaeology dig I ever experienced involved rotten tofu.
