Good morning! Ds stayed up late and I woke several times so do not feel rested today. Also he turned the heat up to 68 after I went to bed, so the house was too warm for sleeping.

Today:

Ds to school ✔️

Help mom with some stuff ✔️

Costco?

Get gas ✔️

Get a display board

Pick up Ds and remind him to finish the science project ✔️

Dinner - out with Dh? Kids can eat something from Costco.

Good morning!  At least my super tough start today was at 7:20 rather that 4 or 5.  I will have to check my fitbit to figure out night movements.  I know I was able to go to the bathroom once with just minor issues.

It is my dh's birthday and also my deceased sister's bday too

breakfast and meds

call Tricare and see what the deal is with the CPAP machine

Figure out how to get my other script

Finish Christmas Cards

Start Laundy

B uy presents and buy clothes online

Get ready for party tonight

Good morning! I’m having my coffee in a quiet house. My friend and her dh are gone to work. Ds and their son are still sleeping after staying up very late I’m sure.

  • Finish getting ready to go out
  • run by Kroger for a couple things
  • go visit some friends
  • lunch with my other best friend
  • visit another friend after that
  • no hard fast plans after that for today, but more plans tomorrow and Sunday

Good morning!

DH has a meeting out of town today, I have my teacher Christmas party today, and then have to drop off goodie bags to kids that were absent this week from our party. So, other than that:

....coffee
....make sure I have all the things for the goodie bags in one place, ready to go
....go to the xmas party
....drop off the goody bags
....come home, work on grandma's quilt
....make dinner
....eat, veg out with the family (we're planning to make Ojos de Dios ornaments, which my dad asked for as his Xmas gift, but probably watch TV at the same time or something)
....probably at least need to check in on the laundry/status of the laundry, do what needs doing there
....anything else I'm forgetting

Howdie, happy Friday!

I'm having a hard time concentrating with people hanging around all day.

And it recently dawned on me that this is probably my permanent "new normal."  That it will be a rare experience to be the only human in the house for any stretch of time.  Will I ever get to play the piano again?  Or do any exercise outside of my bedroom?  Or take a cleaning or meal break without witnesses marking how long I paused from my work?  The benefits of working at home are being chipped away here.

Well anyways ... I do need to do some important things today, so here's hoping I find my focus soon.

Done:

  • Kids to school on time, yay!
  • Walked the pup & other pup stuff.
  • Ready and set up for work.
  • Caught up on emails, news, calendar, social media, and electronic school stuff.
  • Updated CPE log.
  • Sent out a bit of client work.

To do:

  • Lots more client work.
  • Schedule PCR tests for me and the girls.
  • Pick kids up at school.
  • Try to accomplish some hours of CPE and register for future ones.
  • Dinner out.
  • Whatever else gets done.

It is *windy!* Oye. Glad there's no bad weather with it, but wow it sounds crazy!

@SKL, I hope you're able to find a solution/way to settle into the new normal and get back to some of the things you love/miss about the work from home situation.  We've had to do some adjusting, but not that much.

I got the units pieced that will become the quilt blocks for Grandma's quilt, picked out some recipes from eMeals and will stop at the store on my way home to grab the things for dinner and a few other items.

Will work on laundry when I get back.

Have the goodie bags gathered and loaded, and the addresses.

Putting on shoes/socks and heading out.

Well, surprise, I got the house to myself for a while, probably less than an hour.  I hurried over to the piano and banged out a few Christmas songs, LOL.

In prep for answering the Year in Review thread, I logged into my credit card account to look at my spending history, which reminded me to pay my bill and update my donation log, which reminded me to set up a couple of year-end donations in advance of traveling.

I scheduled myself and each of my kids for PCR tests at both Walmart and CVS on the 17th.  This is really too close for comfort as we are supposed to fly out on the evening of the 19th.  We need a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of the flight.  But there weren't any options in the evenings, so we will have to test during school/business hours on the 17th and then pray the results are (a) negative and (b) timely.  We are driving to Chicago on the 18th and flying out from there.  So it will suck extra bad if we drive all the way there and find out any of the tests were positive.  A bit stressful!

Had a lame conference call so that someone else could check something off a list.

Moved other client work forward a tad.

Took a shower washed my hair

Pain bills

Made up a grocery list with coupons

Could not renew my rental over the phone so I have to go in person tomorrow to the school bookstore

Pick up youngest, then drag him to the grocery store which she hates but I'm pretty sure I can bribe him lol

Go to my best friend's house and drop off her gift for her birthday today

Breakfast, all meds and 2 sets of PT, Ot exercises have been done

Called Tricare and I was right, the home health agency was renting out the CPAP machine, not rent to own-- I never thought the government would be doing rent to own.  Anyway, it is the home health agency machine and I am throwing it in the trash since it isn't mine to replace (it was recalled)>

I heard dh just come home-  this morning, he drove me to pick up my script, and then to Publix to drop it off.  Now he has just returned from Publix and a haircut too.

Next up is start a laundry, do the rest of Christmas Cards for fellow boardies, and send out wish list and buy clothes and presents

I really have to figure out what I am wearing to both parties.

Home from all the running around. Whew. Tired.

DH is on his way home; should be here in roughly an hour-ish.

Need to put away groceries, make sure middle DS is up, and possibly nap &/or watch TV while folding laundry before DH gets home. I'm whooped. This day took lots longer than anticipated. Luckily dinner will be good, but easy.

Sent a couple emails and made a quick call regarding covid exposure at school. Ugh! A teacher who is triple vaxed has it. Need to schedule a test for Ds for next week.

Drank some hot peach tea.

Moved the laundry.

Lying on the heating pad to help my neck and back be less stiff.

Kid wants to go to the movies for dinner (it's her "turn" to pick).  I hope there aren't many people in the theater.  (Last time there were maybe 2 other people sitting far away from us).  There is a lot of space between families, so it should be OK but ... if we pick up that damn bug right before our trip ....

Dinner out was okay, not great.

Moved the laundry.

Ds has still not finished the short paper for his science project. He wants time on the computer to game. Ah, no way, not til the paper is done. Looking forward to having him gone all day tomorrow…

Working on my Literary Life booklist for 2022. I need a biography of a living person. Any ideas?
