Rabih Posted December 10, 2021 Posted December 10, 2021 Hi! I'm compiling a list of bedtime books for children of ages 1 to 5. Can you help share books that are per the WTM standard and that you recommend? Here's a list i'm looking at: https://tinybeans.com/best-nighttime-books-of-all-time/ Thanks! Quote

Dianthus Posted December 11, 2021 Posted December 11, 2021 (edited) I don't love the list you're using. For me, many of those would be library options and not things I'd purchase and reread. We read Goodnight Moon to our babies but don't think it was a favorite for the kids. When they are really young, I think it's more about what the parents enjoy. The kids just like to flip pages. My 1 yr old likes the touch and feel and flap books and faces, rhymes, and songs. My kids did like Goodnight Gorilla (have no idea why), Goodnight Construction Site, Llama Red Pajama, and Harold and the Purple Crayon. My kids all liked Curious George, Madeline, Jack and the Dragon, Gruffalo, Otis the Tractor. Beatrix Potter and the old Richard Scarry Best Stories Ever. Other favorite for 3-5 yrs A Child's History of the World Everyday Graces: A Child's Book of Good Manners Aesop's Fables for Children, illustrated by Milo Winter D'aulaires Greek Myths Golden Children’s Bible or Egermeier's Children’s Bible Caps for Sale A House is a House for Me I always reference the lit selections from Memoria Press, Veritas Press, and Bookshark.
