Terabith Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 I went on to order my youngest kid some more underwear, and it kept repeatedly changing the size to the size underwear I buy for myself. (Which, I have only bought myself underwear on amazon once, several years ago). It finally sent me a passive aggressive message saying, "Most people who wear the size clothing you wear wear size x in Hanes briefs." Seriously creepy. Stay out of my drawers, amazon! (Also, I don't do much clothes buying via amazon.) 12 2 Quote
EKS Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 Amazon has been suggesting that I buy these extremely realistic, gory Halloween props--disembodied eyeballs and severed hands for example. I have absolutely no idea where it is getting its information from, but now that I've clicked on some of the suggestions, I'm getting even more! 1 2 Quote
klmama Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 You should be able to at least reduce the unwanted Halloween recommendations by deleting those items from your browsing history. Quote

Make the leap, Amazon, I'm buying for someone else 🤣. Also, they probably realize I am a middle-aged woman based on my history. My size is probably not relevant to the basketball leg sleeve with pad that I'm trying to purchase for my teenage son! 2 2 Quote
Dmmetler Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 You can order Hanes directly from them, FYI :). 1 Quote
chiguirre Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 Hmmm, I haven't gotten any of those messages but I buy a lot of stuff for my sons on Amazon. They're probably wondering how someone is both a middle-aged cardigan wearing woman and takes a size 12 men's shoe. 1 2 Quote
goldberry Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 So passive aggressive! It did the same thing once when I was buying a medium for my daughter when I wear XL. Amazon was really concerned that I was trying to fit my XL self into a M. It was like, "Do you really think that's a good idea??" 🤣 7 Quote

I don't know how strict their privacy policy is, so I just resorted to whispering, "um, Amazon, I think I may have put on some weight, please just let me get the larger size without comment, ok?" It worked, I ordered, and wouldn't you know, they were too large! I couldn't admit that Amazon was right so I kept them. 5 Quote
Lawyer&Mom Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 I lost a ton of weight post covid, and Amazon was determined to continue to recommend that I order my old size jeans. After I obstinately ordered my new size, it updated its recommendation. So change is possible, if you are persistent. 2 2 Quote
